The talk was so fast I couldn’t really catch what it was about right away. After they stressed the urgency again, I got a feeling it was dodgy, so I looked up the number like shown above.

This bloke rang from South Staff Water, claiming I had an unpaid bill. When I asked for their address, he got all shifty and said he couldn’t tell me. His English was really hard to understand too, made the whole thing a bit suspicious.

Yeah, its a firm named “amvoc” from harrogate, west yorkshire. They run a call centre through a virtual phone line. The number they use is 0333 005 1403 which is their main contact.

I was a bit unsure at the start when I answered the call but decided to give it a try. Glad I did, as everything was sorted out really quickly. I had to have a medical, and just a few weeks later, I got my cheque for £2,456.89. I’d definitely suggest this company to anyone - they got me through the process quickly and paid up without delays! Someone from Caledonia Law gave me a call about a car accident I was involved in. After around 2 months, they managed to get me £3200 sorted. Really grateful for their help, they’re a top legal team here in Glasgow who got me the money I needed. No complaints here, now I’ve got enough to take the kids on a trip to Disneyland! Got a call from Monique Sheilds trying to scam me. She pretended she was representing someone who hit my car and claimed she’d be sorting out a payout. When I asked for the person’s details or car number, she wouldn’t give anything, using data protection as an excuse. She came across really pushy and rude, and it was clear she was pulling a con. Folks like her and her company just end up stressing out vulnerable people. I’m planning to report this to Trading Standards and the police because it feels like a fraud attempt to me.

She then claimed I’d already told my insurance and accused me of lying. When I asked her to take my number off their list, she refused. Then I asked to speak to her manager, but she said no. When I said I’d report them, she just laughed and ended the call. Honestly, don’t believe anything from these lot.

The woman on the line talked so quickly I couldn’t make out where she was ringing from, but she kept asking about some bump on my car and the service after it. When I told her I hadn’t had any accident and it wasn’t me, she got really defensive. I asked for the car’s registration, but she said she couldn’t provide it because of “legal reasons”. She pretty much accused me of lying, claiming her info was accurate! I stood firm and told her she was the one with the wrong details. The nerve of her!

Got a call from 0131 236 9957 claiming I’d been in a car crash and asking if I was happy with how it was handled. I’m like, well, sure, I guess. Then he asks if I had any injuries, so I chuckled and told him the only accident was that I haven’t even been in a car! Next thing, he says he doesn’t get what’s funny and just hangs up on me. Tried tracking them down so I can complain properly - honestly, I can’t believe someone would ring me up and then have the nerve to speak to me like that.

I asked his name and who he was working for, and he just hung up on me. Ringing the number back, there’s a recorded message saying I’d been contacted by ‘LAMBETH UNDERWRITERS’ about my accident. Honestly, it’s super annoying!

This number kept calling me for about half a year before I finally picked up. I was super wary because you hear loads about these being scams. But I spoke to the guy who called, and like others have mentioned, he said I owed £1800 (I was still pretty suspicious). After chatting for about 5 minutes, I decided to trust it. They didn’t ask for any bank details or anything, which made me feel way more at ease. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I got a cheque for £2677 from Highland Legal. So huge thanks to Highland Legal for sorting out my compensation - I’m absolutely over the moon! :)

They phoned me three times over a couple of days. Knew my name and the car make, claimed they got info from some National accident database. When I said fine, let’s sort this, and asked where the accident supposedly was, they got all confused and couldn’t give a straight answer. Then said maybe a family member used my details - but I don’t have any family around. I’d definitely have noticed a scratch or dent on my trusty 12-year-old car. Total waste of time and a proper con artist.

Got a call from a bloke who said he was "Mr Burchill," wanting to talk to a Mr or Mrs XXXXXX about some accident from the past couple years involving a Vauxhall. When I asked for the car's registration, he said "We don’t have that info." Pretty obvious scam to me, prob just fishing numbers from Gumtree since I’d just listed a Vauxhall for sale under the wrong name they mentioned. Honestly, Gumtree really ought to step up their game and provide secure contact options like Telesafe numbers.
