Just like some others have said, I got a call straight after I finished sorting something with HMRC. It’s obvious a scam, but it’s really upsetting that they had my number and knew I’d just been in touch with HMRC. Seriously, what kind of security breach is this on HMRC’s side?

Someone said they were from HMRC and said there was an issue with my account.

Got a recorded call claiming to be from HMRC saying they’re taking legal action against me. The number they wanted me to ring was based in India, and I could tell because the call itself was coming from India. Definitely a scam.

I got a call from this number and it seemed pretty normal at first, all calm and reasonable. But then it took a turn and they started threatening me with jail time and arrest. When I asked them for some kind of proof or more info, they just shut down and hung up on me. Definitely a scam, watch out.
