Got a call from someone claiming to be from a call barring service, asking to update my info with my new visa card. Just a heads up, the Telephone Preference Service doesn’t make calls like that and it’s free, so there’s no need to give out any card details.

had a weird call from some eastern european lady claiming she was from a call blocking service. i told her flat out we don’t use call blocking here and that it was clearly a spam call. i also mentioned we’d signed up to avoid such calls and advised her to pass on our number to her boss for removal from their list. after a long silence, she just hung up on me. quite suspicious if you ask me.
