Somebody rang saying they were from BT and that my internet was downloading viruses or something without me realising. They told me if I didn’t get on my computer, they’d shut off our internet for 20 days. Then, because I didn’t play along, they said they’d go ahead and cut it off. Sure enough, about 5 minutes later!

So, I ended the call.

Today, I got a call from a guy named Matthew claiming to be from BT technical support. Yesterday, a guy called Jordan rang me, and I didn’t let him on my computer - kept him chatting for nearly 20 minutes instead. He even asked me to start up my tablet and phone! Who in their right mind would actually do that? He gave up and hung up. So today, when Matthew called, I answered in a different language and just carried on speaking like that. He started yelling at me to turn on my computer, got really rude and annoyed, so I just left the phone on the table and let him bluster away for about 8 minutes until he finally ended the call. Honestly, that’s not the way to treat BT customers at all!

Got a call from a man with an Indian accent, saying he was John from BT’s tech team. He told us our internet was gonna be switched off for 3 months because of some issue on our server. This number has called me a couple times today, with some guy claiming my internet had an issue, saying I'd be offline for 20 days cause of a virus on the line. That bit made me chuckle. Today I got a call from this number and the person on the line had a really thick accent. They claimed to be from BT and asked me when I last used the internet. I told them “earlier today” and they then said I should switch off my router. Absolute scammers. They rang me loads, pretending to be from BT, saying my router was sending out error alerts and even 'terrorist warnings' or something mad like that, saying my service would be disconnected.
