I’ve heard they were featured on BBC’s Rogue Traders, which raises some red flags, doesn’t it?

I've started getting calls from this number a couple of weeks ago. I’ve refrained from answering, as we generally allow the answering machine to filter our calls. Upon checking the TPS website, it seems that Brighter House Solutions doesn't hold a valid licence with them, yet they are indeed registered with the CTPS - the corporate counterpart of TPS. It looks like they’ve committed to avoiding nuisance calls to other companies, yet they seem rather keen on pestering ordinary folks like us. If these calls persist, I’ll be sure to drop an email to TPS to lodge a complaint.

As soon as we asked them a question, they hung up on us. When we mentioned that we hadn’t had any previous conversations with them, they were gone in a flash! This call came from a Mr Whem, claiming to represent some company called Brighter Homes in Westcliff. Try as I might, I can’t seem to uncover any information about this so-called firm. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

I recently received a call from Brighter Homes regarding my late mother. They seemed convinced we had attended the opening of their new shop last year. This lady on the other end of the line asked for our opinions on their products, assuming we were our mother. I tried to clarify that we had not been to any such opening, but she became rather adamant that we had. In the end, we decided it was best to hang up, as it struck me as rather improbable for my mother to have gone, considering that she’s resting in the local churchyard.

This number has plagued our phone with incessant calls, sometimes ringing us up to five times a day for over a month now. Initially, we did answer, and a woman on the line claimed she was specifically calling us to express her gratitude for a survey we supposedly completed earlier this year. (Complete fabrication, mind you!) She went on to say that she would be sending us a £250 voucher as a token of their appreciation and wanted to know how we planned to use it. We played along, telling her to go ahead and send it (fully intending to chuck it in the bin) before we hung up. Since that conversation, we’ve been bombarded with calls and we’ve decided to ignore them completely. For the love of all that is good, do not pick up! (They're literally ringing us as we type, how infuriating!!!)

Absolutely, that was definitely Brighter Homes! But I can't quite fathom how clever they truly are. We've reached out to them and made it crystal clear that we do not wish to receive any more calls. While the products themselves are quite commendable, everything surrounding the service is frankly quite disheartening. The sales staff seem to merely regurgitate lines from a script, and if you happen to throw them off course with a question, they don’t hesitate to hang up and belittle you behind your back. When their representatives visit your home, they have a rather unsettling way of making you feel guilty for not making a purchase. As for the management, it appears that one of them has questionable hobbies, while others seem to enjoy making rather inappropriate comments towards female staff. It’s clear that the upper management lacks any sense of responsibility, focusing solely on their own interests. My advice? It would be wise to steer clear of both purchasing from them and considering them as an employer. Take care! xx
