Had a call from a lady with an Indian accent, saying she was from Curry’s, trying to sell me a phone contract. Now, Curry’s does sell phones but they're not actually a phone provider, so I instantly knew it was dodgy. When she asked if I wanted a new contract, I just said “no thanks” and she quickly ended it. Honestly, the whole thing was a rubbish sales attempt and a really poor try at a scam. Proper funny how bad they were!

Got a call on my mobile from a number in Brisgewater. The lady said she was ringing from PC World, but it definitely sounded like some Indian call centre. I told her I’m not interested and that cold calls aren’t allowed.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from Currys, trying to pitch a new phone deal. I decided to humour them and mentioned how perfect the offer sounded since I actually work just next door to a Currys shop, so I could swing by and grab the phone immediately. They couldn’t explain why that wouldn't work, instead insisting I hand over my email address. I told them I’d already bought my phone from Currys before, so they’d have my details on file. That seemed to annoy them, and they promptly ended the call.

Earlier today, I received a rather odd call from a man who started quizzing me about my mobile and its features, as well as my internet habits, including which browser I favour. Initially, the inquiries appeared to be friendly enough-almost like a casual survey-so I thought, why not? I was a bit bored anyway. However, as the conversation unfolded, his questions took a rather intrusive turn, becoming uncomfortably personal. I eventually decided I’d had enough and ended the call abruptly. Could very well have been a dodgy scammer fishing for information.

Got a call from HSBC saying I’d missed a payment, which I actually had. At first, I suspected it might be a scam because my phone showed a warning, but turns out the number was genuine.

Some guy called me claiming he was Usman from Curry’s mobile, trying to flog me what he said was a “can’t miss” deal on a new iPhone. He even gave me a number to ring to prove he was legit, said he was from their Wembley branch. When I phoned Curry’s myself to ask about these deals, they told me they don’t do cold calls like that #### total scammer! I’m waiting for him to ring back on Monday so I can tell him what I think.

I wasn’t sure if he even knew my name. The bloke was talking so quickly it was almost impossible to catch what he was saying - seemed like he was rushing on purpose just to get me to respond. I just told him if it’s really important, drop me an email, then ended the call.
