They said the warranty on my boiler was finished, but I thought it was meant to last more than a year. When I mentioned that, they just cut the call.

Got a call from someone claiming to be 'Home Start' insurance, saying my boiler cover ran out. Let her talk for a bit, then asked how I’d usually pay. She said ‘direct debit’, which was odd cause we don’t have any cover. Played along a bit more, then told her to stop wasting my time and called her a con artist, threw in some colourful words, and she just hung up. Bet they deal with rude people all the time.

Based on what folks are saying, this definitely doesn't seem legit and you should never share your bank info with random callers. Don't hand over any personal or bank details to strangers on the phone. It's a scam, for sure. Better to report it to the police.

This has to be a scam, they keep saying I’ve got Sky when I clearly dont. I told them I never signed up but they just keep pushing it. Don’t get why they’re still allowed to ring people like this. When I asked them to stop, they just told me to chill and said something about me being old and gonna die. Proper rude and just scammy behaviour.

The call quality was poor and the woman spoke with a really thick accent that was hard to follow. I caught bits about a boiler renewal, but told her I’d ring the company directly and then she just ended the call. Looking into it, it’s clearly a scam.

Got a call from an Asian woman about insurance for my washing machine. She had all my info spot on. Then she put me on hold to speak with someone else. An Asian bloke came on saying I couldn’t pay by direct debit anymore as my washing machine was too old. He asked for my card details to sort payments. When I asked why no direct debit, he just hung up straight away. Definitely a scam, watch out!

Someone rang me claiming to be from British Gas, trying to lower my boiler cover payments that were supposedly up for renewal. They even used a name I hadn’t gone by for about 8 years, and I only got the cover around 3 months back. I told the caller it all sounded dodgy, but they just said I could call back later. I told them I’d ring British Gas direct and then ended the call.

They've rung a couple of times now, saying our washing machine insurance is about to expire and they'd renew it automatically. When we said we don’t even have insurance with them, they kept insisting we did. Then they tried to tempt us with a discount and asked whether we’d want to renew it for a year or five years. We then asked how much we’re currently paying monthly, and the woman said it’s not a monthly thing, it’s a one-time payment. We ended the call telling them we weren’t interested. Seems a bit dodgy to me. Would avoid.

Got a call saying my British Gas boiler warranty was about to run out in 4 weeks, which is true. I asked the bloke three times who he was but he just mumbled and rushed his words, totally sounded like a scam. So I kept him on for like 5 minutes, moaning about their service and all sorts. Little did he know, my BG Homecare actually starts the day the warranty ends. Once I started winding him up a bit, he got annoyed, and I just told him I’m sorted for 5 years. He hung up straight away - what a right muppet.

After all the usual fibs and nonsense I kinda went along with renewing it for three years at £199.99, supposedly with a free year thrown in. Got a call yesterday looking for someone called Derek, which isn’t me. Then they rang once more today, got my proper name this time, and tried telling me the insurance on my washing machine ran out (it was brand new back in November, so still covered by the warranty obviously). Got a call from someone with an Indian or Pakistani accent, going on about my boiler cover being up for renewal. Trouble is, I don’t even have a boiler, let alone any cover. Got a call out of the blue saying my Sky gear’s cover has run out. They had the right name and address, which caught me off guard. I was nearly about to renew it, but then I remembered I either had Sky ages ago and the kit’s long since vanished, or I’ve not had any for over ten years. So annoying how these calls keep coming - I’ve got all sorts of “expired” cover I’ve never even signed up for, plus BT threatening to cut me off and now the TV licence people seem to be after me too. Got a call from someone named 'Howard' saying it was about renewing a boiler warranty, but we dont have a warranty with them at all. Told them off and have blocked the number now. Complete scam!

They kept calling me, saying they were offering car warranties or something like that. I’d already blocked the number before but they just kept trying with the same rubbish. Total waste of time.

Someone called asking about washing machines, I said I already have one, told them thanks and hung up. Now I see they've blocked me. Strange!

This lady kept saying she was from PPI and asked if I could spare a few mins to answer stuff. I told her no, so she promised to ring back later. I ended up blocking that number, but then they phoned from another Bournemouth number! Honestly, got so many numbers blocked now, probably more than what you'd find in a phone directory.

Got two calls from this number today. Picked up the second one and a woman was asking if I was having any "Sky problems." When I asked her to explain, she mentioned something about their equipment. I don’t have Sky at all, no gear or anything, so it seemed pretty dodgy to me. Definitely sounds like a scam.
