Had a call earlier from a person asking about our washing machine. Luckily, I’ve got TalkTalk’s call-safe set up, so unknown numbers need to leave a voicemail before it even rings through. As soon as I seen the number, I hit block straight away! Still, it worries me for elderly or vulnerable folks who might get caught out by these scammers.

The caller didn’t show up on BT Call Guardian, so I’m guessing it was either a scammer or someone from a call centre. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number.

At first it seemed pretty legit, but when he started talking about a machine, he had no clue what kind of machine it actually was. Things quickly went downhill. I ended up googling the number and that’s when I realised it was a total scam.

Got a call earlier today from someone wanting my full name about washing machine insurance. When I asked what brand and model the washing machine was, the bloke didn't even know. After I told him about GDPR and how they have no right to call without my permission, he got quite rude. He still couldn’t say what brand or model they were referring to. I told him where to go and made clear they won’t be ringing me back. I've also reported them to the ICO, just to be sure.

Received a rather intrusive call earlier today where the chap on the line was insistent on knowing my full name, claiming it was about washing machine insurance. When I inquired about the model and make of our appliance, he seemed utterly stumped and couldn’t provide any information. As I pointed out that under GDPR regulations, they had no right to contact me without my explicit consent, his attitude took a turn for the worse. Quite rude, really, and he still couldn’t give me a straight answer about my washing machine! I told him where to go, and I won’t be graced by their unwanted calls again. I've also lodged a complaint with the ICO. Beware of these washing machine insurance charlatans!

Got another call about the washing machine deal, this time from someone called Paul claiming to be from OK Ltd, same postcode too. Couldn't miss the very obvious British rude language, so I just hung up straight away. Scam artists for sure.

Got a call from some bloke who knew my name and even my address. He claimed he was with a company called ‘i's ok’ and said my washing machine’s warranty had run out, offering to get me a new one. I told him my machine was still under a five-year warranty and I hadn’t had it that long anyway. Then he asked if it was a Zanussi, which it isn’t. After that, he said he must have mixed up the details and hung up. Sounds like a scam to me.
