I told my missus the warranty on our washing machine was running out, even though it's 8 years old so not really covered. Then they rang and asked if she was the one speaking, she said yes. They also checked if the address they had was right and she went along with it. No idea what trouble she's got us into now!

Got a call from a guy claiming to be with SKY, trying to get me to renew some tv insurance plan. The thing is, we don’t have SKY or any sort of tv insurance. He even used my name and was really pushy about it. If you’re not careful, it feels like they’re just trying to pressure you into saying yes.

Got a call around 4pm on the 2nd of March from a lady with a strong Asian accent. She claimed I was eligible for a discount on my next insurance premium because I hadn’t made any claims on my home appliances. It sounded like a total scam, especially since she somehow knew my name! I told her I don’t have any appliance insurance and if something breaks, I just replace it. She ended the chat pretty quickly after that.

So this number rang me yesterday about some sort of appliance insurance, which I figured was dodgy. Then today the same number called again, but this time they knew my name and even got my address right. They claimed to be from Sky, which is ridiculous as I don’t even have Sky, so clearly another scam. I’ve just blocked the number now.

My folks got conned out of more than £4000 by these lot - they mostly target older people. Thankfully, I’m the one who answers the phone now. If you get a call from them, just don’t say ‘yes’ or anything like that. Just firmly say ‘no thanks’ and hang up straight away!

total scammer! they tried to sell me insurance for my tv and sky box, but i’ve never even had sky! plus, the postcode they had for me was ancient, like from 25 years ago, so it’s obvious they’re using some dodgy, outdated list. they wanted me to pay £200 on the spot, saying it was a huge discount - made me laugh, proper dodgy job.

A chap rang me regarding the warranty for my washing machine, asking to verify my name and address. When I inquired about when I purchased the appliance, he stumbled over his words and I had to press him for clarification. He finally mentioned it was three years ago, which struck me as odd, then he stated it was a Hotpoint - a brand I don't even own! Without hesitation, he hung up on me. I decided to look up the number and found that many others have received similar calls from numbers ending in 158, clearly indicating a scam aimed at coaxing unsuspecting folks into paying for some bogus extended warranty over the phone.

I received a call from an Asian gentleman about my kitchen gadgets. The whole thing had the vibe of a dodgy scam, so I informed him that I would be flagging his call to the ICO. I'm on the Telephone Preference Service list, and I certainly did not consent to receive such calls.

Today, I received a peculiar phone call regarding the insurance for my appliances. The caller brought up some documentation and inquired if I was interested in extending my policy to two years. Since I already pay for mine on an annual basis, I politely declined the offer. He then insisted that I answer a few questions, but it quickly became apparent he had my address all mixed up, claiming I had just relocated. When he asked for my new address, I replied that it was merely the house number that needed updating, and I would sort it out online myself. The chat fizzled out after that.

I had a rather amusing encounter with a lady inquiring about my Siemens washing machine. Curiously enough, I had only just acquired it myself! When she probed about when I had summoned an engineer for warranty purposes and I mentioned that I hadn’t needed one yet since it was brand new, she abruptly disconnected the call. Quite the peculiar turn of events, I must say!

I received a call from someone claiming to be from Domestic Insurance, insisting that my appliance cover was up for renewal and asking if I wanted to proceed with it. I've received a similar call in the past, where someone was inquiring about a washing machine from a property I resided in six years back. When I probed for the brand of the appliance, the caller abruptly hung up!

The individual on the line claimed that my Sky warranty was up for renewal, offering a rather enticing deal-three years for the price of two, totalling £199. When I informed him that I had no warranty needing renewal, he rather condescendingly suggested that I must have simply forgotten, implying that two years is quite a stretch of time. I reiterated that I never subscribe to such plans and said my farewells. Even as I ended the call, I could still hear him rambling on.

I’ve been getting incessant calls regarding a warranty for my household gadgets. I've informed them that I don't need it since I already have my own insurance. Yet, the calls just keep coming, and it’s becoming quite bothersome.

I recently received a phone call from this number inquiring about the condition of my appliances. I replied that everything was functioning well, but it was obvious they were angling for me to subscribe to some sort of additional insurance. When she confirmed that was the case, I couldn't help but raise my voice, proclaiming my disinterest before hanging up abruptly. Honestly, these persistent calls are enough to send my blood pressure skyrocketing; I worry I might just have a meltdown one of these days!

They mentioned my name and address and claimed to be from Domestic and General. However, my phone indicated it was an international number ringing me. When I checked the caller ID with 1471, it came up as 01273 655159. I've recently sorted my renewal with them, so I’m puzzled as to why they would be contacting me. I've already shared my information directly with Domestic and General.

I usually steer clear of picking up calls from numbers I don’t recognise, but in this instance, I was expecting a call. A gentleman who didn’t sound British, representing some "Home Services" outfit, rang up to inform me that my service warranty was on the brink of expiry today. Strangely enough, he had my name and address at his fingertips. When I queried which appliances this concerned, he rattled off an exhaustive list. (Notably, I only purchased a new fridge freezer just last week; his mentioning it was quite the glaring red flag!) I promptly told him I was onto his little scam since we don’t have any cover for those appliances.
