They tried to con my 82-year-old dad who suffers from Parkinson’s, convincing him to give out his card info. Thankfully, he confided in me straight away and we managed to cancel the card before any money was lost. Dad said he was baffled by their spiel, but that didn’t stop them from trying to exploit a vulnerable, unwell man. I’ve reported the number to the bank’s fraud team and also flagged it with the police. Please steer well clear of this number!

I bought a washing machine years ago, and my insurance expired quite some time back as well. What really got me worried was that he somehow knew my address. When I asked where he got the details from, he just wouldn’t say and then cut the call.

Didn’t bother going through Call Guardian with this one. Pretty sure it’s just some scammer messing about trying to waste time. Best to just block and move on.

Got a call from some Asian number I didn't recognise, but as soon as I asked who it was, they just hung up. They even mentioned my wife's name though. These days I'm getting like two or three scam calls everyday, so I’m pretty sure this was just another one.

watch out, this number is definitely dodgy. i got two calls from them saying my appliance insurance was about to finish in 48 hours and they had a special offer to renew it for 3 years. last week i just brushed them off, but today they rang once more saying the same thing about my policy ending soon. i just laughed and told them if my insurance expired every 48 hours like they said, i’d be renewing it non stop! don’t be fooled by these lot, they’re total scammers!

They phoned yet again, clearly not taking the hint. Kept going on about some domestic goods insurance, proper pushy about it. We had a bit of a laugh when he seemed amazed that almost all my appliances are new with a built-in three year warranty. Then he got really shocked when I said we don’t own a TV. “You don’t have a telly?” he asked. In the end, we both agreed he wasn’t going to help me. I’m signed up to the TPS list, but his company just didn’t seem to care. That speaks volumes about them, if you ask me.

I got a call about my home appliances insurance supposedly ending soon. I kept asking him to clarify and repeat what he said. Eventually, I questioned which appliances he meant exactly. As soon as I mentioned I didn't have insurance for any of them, he just hung up on me.

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be about a “domestic insurance compensation claim” for our home appliances. He kept pushing to speak with an elderly family member. I told him straight up I reckoned he was scamming us and asked why he was being so dodgy. Despite being called out, he wouldn’t back down like most scammers do and kept going on with the chat. In the end, I hung up. From the sound of it, this is a really persistent and annoying caller who doesn’t quit easily and seems to be specifically after older folks. Would say watch out for this one, it feels quite intimidating.

Just a heads up about those home or appliance insurance scams - my suggestion is simple: never pick up calls from numbers you don’t know! If it really matters, they’ll usually drop you a voicemail. And trust me, these scammers hardly ever bother leaving a message!!

I got a call about renewing some sort of insurance for white goods. Thing is, I never took out any policy in the first place! When I told him this, he admitted he probably had the wrong number, even though he already had my name and address. Bit odd, if you ask me.

A chap attempted to persuade me into refreshing my kitchen gadgets with a two-year contract, promising a complimentary third year. He insisted I cough up a sum of £395 in one go. However, when I mentioned I'd prefer to stick to my monthly payments, he abruptly hung up without uttering another word. Quite baffling, really!

Had a rather dodgy call earlier from a foreign woman attempting to hawk appliance insurance. She claimed to be representing my service provider. As soon as I mentioned that I already pay monthly, she abruptly hung up on me. This sort of thing seems to be happening far too often.

I received a call from a chap with an Asian accent claiming that my washing machine insurance had run out and he was looking to renew it for another three years. Curiosity got the better of me, so I probed further, asking which brand he was referring to. He mentioned it was a Hoover. However, I don’t even own a Hoover washing machine! So I firmly told him to do one and requested that he not ring me again. Absolute nonsense!

I recently received a rather dubious call from this number claiming they were in the process of renewing my D&G insurance policy. They wanted to verify my postcode but then started mentioning insuring my washing machine, cooker, and fridge-freezer. At that moment, I sensed something was amiss, particularly since my current policy doesn’t even cover the cooker! When he went on to say I could get a cheaper policy, I enquired about the monthly rate. He responded that the payment would have to be made immediately. I explained that wasn't feasible for me, and he pressed for reasons. I simply stated that I wasn’t in a position to afford it. Just as he was about to suggest an alternative payment method, I decided I'd had enough and cut the call short.

Just like many before me, I received an enticing proposal to insure all of my devices since the warranties had elapsed. They insisted that not all were out of date and offered to nullify the current ones, claiming I'd gain from this shiny new premium they were pitching. Honestly, how daft do they assume I am? It’s only been a week since my washing machine’s guarantee lapsed, and now they’re attempting to switch things up. They just don’t give up! Apologies for not dragging out the conversation any longer.

I had a rather peculiar encounter earlier. An individual with an Asian accent informed me that my insurance coverage for the washing machine and fridge would be expiring in just three days. When I pressed him for details about the brands of the appliances, he was utterly stumped. I responded that I needed some time to ponder over it and now I’m bracing myself for his inevitable follow-up call. Rest assured, I’ll let him know exactly what I think!

I had a bit of a rough experience regarding my kitchen appliances insurance. It felt rather convoluted, and when I disagreed with him, he abruptly ended the call. Very frustrating!

We receive calls from these persistent individuals fairly often, trying to persuade us to renew our appliance insurance. No matter how many times we ask them to leave us alone, they just won't take the hint. Total con artists, if you ask me!

I’ve been getting these calls about renewing Sky, but I don’t even have an account with them! It’s reminiscent of the time they attempted to sell me washing machines. Next time, I might just humour them a bit, but they tend to hang up quite quickly, making it a bit of a challenge. But honestly, how do they even get away with this? If anyone has the means, let’s put a stop to their antics!

Like many others have mentioned, I received a call from a chap attempting to push upgrades on appliances I don’t own. It’s quite amusing, really, how these scams lack any finesse. When I inquired about which appliances he was referring to, his answers were completely off the mark. I politely said I needed to verify my details and continued with my tasks for about five minutes. When I returned, he was still droning on, so I pointed out that the appliances he listed simply didn’t tally with reality. It felt as though he was fishing for a quick buck right out of my pocket! He then claimed he had to consult his supervisor and promptly disconnected the call. I highly doubt I’ll hear from him again!

Like many similar tales regarding this number, I received a rather dubious proposition for insurance concerning my washer and fridge-freezer. I informed the caller that I actually don’t possess a washing machine (truth be told, we have one, but I take no issue with spinning a yarn to these charlatans) and he seemed thoroughly bewildered about how to proceed. He then stumbled over the fridge-freezer details, and by that point, I’d completely lost interest and just ended the call. I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction that I managed to refrain from unleashing the kind of colourful language that these rogues truly deserve…!

I received a call from a woman of Asian descent who was trying to persuade me to extend the insurance on my fridge and washing machine. She seemed to have my name and address already, but when I asked for details about when I purchased the appliances, she couldn't provide any clarification and abruptly ended the conversation with a rather curt remark. Quite a peculiar line of work!

I received a call from an Asian lady, but I couldn't quite catch which company she claimed to represent - her answer seemed to change each time I inquired. She was pushing some sort of cover for my household appliances and mentioned a washing machine specifically, but it was all rather vague. Seemed like a total scam to me!
