01273655125 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01273655125 👆 is reported as a persistent scam operation targeting individuals with calls about domestic appliance insurance renewals, particularly for washing machines, fridges, and cookers. Callers often claim to represent known companies or use familiar insurance terminology but fail to provide accurate product details when questioned. They frequently know personal information such as name and address, which heightens concern. Common tactics include pressuring for credit card details, threatening higher costs if declined immediately, and abruptly ending calls when challenged. Many victims report foreign accents, silent calls, or calls cutting out suddenly. No legitimate messages are left, and repeated calls to nonexistent policyholders or previous occupants occur. It is recommended to ignore, block the number, and warn vulnerable individuals, especially the elderly, as these calls are deceptive and potentially harmful.

I received a call from a chap with what sounded like a South African accent. He claimed to be from Apex Insurance, saying my washing machine insurance was on the verge of expiring. When I pressed him to identify which model of washing machine I had, he abruptly ended the call. Just a word of caution-right from the get-go, something felt off about the entire exchange.

Today my mum, who’s quite old, got a call from the number 01273 655125 about renewing her home insurance and a discount for no claims. She didn’t remember having any policy, so she handed the phone over to me. Together we probably stressed the caller out big time - sounded like they had an Irish accent! :) Just be careful and let older family know this is likely a sneaky scam!

Got a call from someone claiming to discuss renewing my kitchen appliance insurance. They knew both my first and last name, plus my address. Pretty sure it was dodgy since we don’t even have any combined cover for the washing machine, cooker or fridge under one policy. He also mentioned he’d sent me a letter 9 days earlier. Asked him to send it again and he ended the call immediately.

Got a call from a lady on this number claiming my washing machine’s warranty had expired. I told her my washing machine is about 22 years old, so I’d imagine any warranty would be long gone by now. She quickly said, “Oh, I must have got the wrong person!” Yeah, she definitely did. Blocked the number straight away.

Got a bloke ringing about insurance for white goods, right? Told him the hubby handles all that stuff and he’s not around. Then he’s like, “Do you want to cancel the policy?” Erm, I just said I don’t deal with it! Next, he asks when the husband will be free. I said probably tomorrow. Not holding my breath they'll ring back because he wasn’t exactly the nicest chap, ha. Pretty sure it’s some kind of scam. Also, isn’t cold calling banned here in the UK? Strange how they still get through.

Got a call from some bloke named Jean, said he was from Domestic Appliances. He claimed the cover on my washing machine and fridge freezer had run out. I asked him "Which freezer exactly?" and he just doubled down, saying fridge freezer and washer. I asked, "What brand is the washing machine then?" and he said "Hotpoint." Told him flat out we don't own a Hotpoint. That was the end of that - he hung up sharpish. Definitely a scam.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to have my details (which is odd since I’ve been ex-directory and haven’t shared that number in over a decade - probably using some old electoral roll info). She tried to sell me a renewal on my washing machine insurance, plus covers for other appliances. I don’t do those kinds of policies at all! I just ignored her chat, left the phone down and waited for her to run out of things to say before she hung up. Number’s blocked now.

I received a call from a gentleman claiming to be Charles, representing 'Domestic Appliances'. He insisted that the service agreements for our washing machine, fridge/freezer, and cooker had lapsed as of today. He urged me to verify this information so that I could continue my coverage by making a payment. When I pressed him for his phone number, he completely dodged the question and instead insisted on me confirming his details. To be frank, I suspected he was up to no good as his claims didn’t add up. Ultimately, he ended the call abruptly. Taking matters into my own hands, I reached out to another firm and shared all the pertinent details with them. They assured me that they would notify their fraud investigation team about this incident.

Got a call earlier today from someone claiming to be from a kitchen appliance insurance company. She said they were about to send me renewal papers for my washing machine and fridge. I told her kindly I wasn’t interested in renewing and ended the call. I did have some freezer insurance ages ago, like 8 years back or so, but never for the fridge since it was secondhand. Someone rang me claiming it was about an extended warranty on household gadgets. We never buy extended warranties from manufacturers, but he kept saying we had one on two different things. When I asked what exactly and which brand, he rattled off a bunch of makers but clearly didn’t know the right ones. I soon twigged it was a scam, told him I wasn’t interested and wanted off the call.
