A lady phoned me and seemed to know my name, asking if my washing machine had been working alright. When I asked what was going on, she claimed they were giving a 40% discount on appliance warranties for anyone who hadn’t called out a repair in the past six months. She also mentioned she knew we paid monthly for cover on our washing machine. She told me the brand she had recorded was Hotpoint, but when I said we hadn’t had a Hotpoint for almost five years, she just ended the call. Definitely a scam. Be careful and don’t share info without checking first.

On the 16th of July, this number rang up my husband and when he answered, he told the woman that I handle things like washing machine insurance. We figured she wouldn't bother ringing again but sure enough, the very next day she called once more from 01273644005 - same number but with a different last digit.
