Got a call on my landline just once, back on 30th May 2020. Didn’t pick up, thought they’d ring again but nope! I checked the number using 1471 afterwards.

Received a cheeky phone call earlier from someone attempting to peddle an extended warranty for my washing machine. Now, I wouldn’t mind the offer so much, but they had the audacity to suggest I part with £90! I mean, really - my ancient washing machine probably isn’t worth that much! Feels rather dodgy to me!

My mum was the one who picked up, but I quickly grabbed the phone and yelled into it, "YOU'RE A SCAMMER," then hung up. These scammers are everywhere! Seriously, don’t hand over any info to these absolute scammers. Make sure to tell your older or vulnerable family members and mates about this. I've dealt with calls just like this before, sometimes even from the same number or one that’s almost the same. Avoid these con artists at all costs!

About half an hour ago, I got a call on my home phone from someone telling me my washing machine's insurance was about to expire. I told him I didn't think so since I've only owned the machine for three months. Then he switched gears, saying he was offering insurance for any kitchen appliance. I asked why he assumed my washing machine insurance had ended, and he said he never said that, just that there was a discount on kitchen appliance insurance. I kept saying no, but he kept going on and on - eventually I just got fed up and ended the call.

I’ve stopped picking up calls from unknown numbers now. If they don’t bother to leave a voicemail, I just figure it’s a scam and block them straight away. Honestly, I think others should do this too, it’ll make these annoying calls drop off quicker!

Got a call from some woman claiming to be from the warranty dept, but it sounded dodgy as hell. I just told her off rudely, said she’s a total parasite and should buzz off and find a proper job instead of wasting my time.

I received a call from a woman who addressed me by my last name, claiming that my washing machine insurance was up for renewal. The thing is, I don’t even have such insurance, and she couldn’t specify which brand or model she meant. She was quite insistent, even suggesting a discount, which raised my suspicions. It seems like either a case of mis-selling or an attempt to fish for my bank details. Definitely sounds like a scam of some type.

some lady called me and struggled to speak properly over the phone. she claimed to be from sky and was rambling on about renewing my sky subscription. i played along a bit, even though i don't have any sky services at all! i told her to cut it out and stop messing about with people. she kept saying she was just following up on my sky plan. i told her to quit the ”phishing” nonsense since i’ve never had sky. she insisted there was a contract with my name on it. honestly, it was a joke! i’ll be reporting her again, this time for pretending to be from sky. total scam!

My mum got a call from a bloke with a foreign accent about some Hotpoint insurance deal. Apparently, he'd done the same thing last year trying to get her to sign up. He just wouldn’t quit, kept ringing and pestering her. On the third try, I answered and told him to stop, but he told me to shut up, so I just hung up and blocked the number straight away. I’ve heard it might be connected to a company called Domestic & General, but honestly, reading what others say, it sounds like a total scam to me.

They claimed our washing machine insurance was nearly up for renewal and asked if the machine was still functioning. I told them it's actually a rented machine, so the policy wouldn’t be in my name. They then said they'd just cancel the policy. When I asked for the policy number to check if we’d paid any premiums, they quickly cut me off and ended the call.
