The funniest bit was when we jotted down all the info, turns out it was a classic National Home Cover scam in the UK!

Got a call from a woman named Janice using the number above, but the person who picked up didn’t recognise her. She claimed it was about insurance for a washing machine that supposedly expired. We’d only bought the machine from Currys about three weeks ago, and I’d just completed the online warranty form that very morning. When I asked how they got my phone number, she wouldn’t say.

This unexpected call really upset me and my wife, and it even led to a bit of a row between us!

Got a call from someone saying they were with a home care company. They asked my mum for her debit card info, sounded legit but definitely a scam.
