BT 1471 showed the caller as 01223110026, but when I attempted to block it using BT Call Protect, it didn’t work. The call was about some Energy Savings deal, so I just ended it. I’m registered with the TPS, so they really shouldn’t be calling me!

Got a call from someone cold calling but oddly they knew my last name. They asked if I knew about government grants and if I’d done any home upgrades lately. I told them we’re on the TPS so we shouldn’t be getting these calls. She said sorry and promised to take our number off their list, which honestly should have happened ages ago. Anyway, I’ve blocked the number now.

Got a cold call with some daft tale about a "client" wanting to buy my VCT shares. They couldn’t even answer simple questions about why they were contacting me like that. Just sounded totally untrustworthy.

I got a call from 02356836136 (checked with 1471) about some sort of buy-back deal for changing old pvc windows, like over 10 years old. When I blocked the number, 1572 told me it was linked to this 0126 number. The lady on the phone was quite courteous, but started by asking for Mr X, who actually passed away 20 years ago. She hung up when I mentioned I don’t even have any pvc windows at all.

The caller ID says one thing but they fake the number to cover up that they’re scammers. I use BT 1572 to see the actual number behind it. I don’t bother chatting with these people at all. Honestly, I hope these boiler room call centres find a way to do something honest for a living.

This number ring me a couple times. I didn’t answer, just waited to see if they’d say anything. First time they hung up when I stayed silent, then a few minutes later they called again with some bloke claiming to be from Google. I kept quiet again, probably annoyed him. Ended up cutting the call and blocking the number. I guess the first call was just to make sure the number was real.

Got a call with the exact same recorded American voice as yesterday but from another number. Definitely a BT scam. It shows up as an international number. I only picked up to block it on BT call protect. They push you to press 1 or 2, saying your internet's going to get cut off!!

Received a call on the 29th of April, 2019. The person on the other end mentioned my name, yet I chose not to verify it. Instead, I inquired who was on the line, and they abruptly hung up. Quite odd, really!

This bloke said he was Raymond from Home Solutions. When I asked how he got my number, he said it was from a database like everyone else’s. I told him I’m on the TPS, but he just said he’d hang up and ring my husband instead. I’ve now blocked his number on my BT blacklist, so no chance he’ll be bothering my husband 😂😂

Got a cold call today. She rang me using my last name, so I decided to let it play out (usually if they just say "hello sir" I tell them to stuff off right away). But it took about five seconds after she launched into her sales pitch to realise it was one of those annoying cold calls. Being the polite bloke I am, I told her to bugger off (she picked that job, so she can take the heat) and then ended the call. I've blocked the number and added it to my BT Call Minder now.

Someone called me saying they’d tried to get in touch last year - some Home Solutions lot. I told the woman that I’d have asked them to take me off their list ages ago, like I always do! She promised to sort it this time! (Guess I’ll wait and see!) Tried to block the number through BT by dialling 1572, but it said it’s not a valid number. If BT lets these companies use their network, why ain’t this number even recognised? Proper frustrating!

They've rung me a couple of times when I honestly couldn't answer, and they never left a message. When I tried calling back, some recorded message said "the number you dialled doesn't exist" - which is rubbish cos it definitely does. Sounds pretty fishy to me, so I've blocked the number on my phone using Truecaller.
