Got a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to work for Virgin Media’s tech support. They said there were a bunch of problems with my computer. I kept them on the line, asking for more details and to explain stuff again. When I asked how I could actually confirm it was Virgin Media, they tried to get me to look up some CLSID number online. After going back and forth for a while, the caller got really frustrated and started arguing. I just hung up.

These folks seem like they’ve honed their craft as con artists!

I’m on the verge of contacting the authorities! This number reached out to my child, who is autistic and steers clear of calls from unknown numbers due to heightened anxiety. I had to pick it up on loudspeaker. The pre-recorded message blared something about facing prosecution over criminal charges unless action is taken... so I promptly hung up!
