I got a call on 20th August from someone claiming a smart phone had been bought through my Amazon account and told me to look at my email for a security alert. When I told them I thought it was a scam and said I’d hang up and call Amazon myself, they became quite rude. I did ring Amazon straight away and found nothing suspicious on my account. It was clearly a scam. My advice is don’t engage with them or share any info; just say you’ll call Amazon directly to verify.

I got a call from this number claiming to be from Amazon Security, saying someone had ordered a smartphone using my account but had switched the delivery to Devon. They questioned why I hadn’t responded to any security emails from Amazon. The caller pushed me to look at my emails and tried to get me to confirm my email address. I told them they should already have it if they were really from Amazon Security. Then I asked for their contact info and said I'd ring back later since I was busy. He gave the name Michael Lumming, said he worked for Amazon Security, and gave an ID number AS15607.

On 18th August 2020, I received a call on my brand new landline from this exact number. The moment I picked up, the caller just hung up straight away. Curious, I used 1471 to get the number and then searched it on Google. It struck me as odd since nobody else has this number yet - it’s fresh out and I haven’t shared it with anyone. That’s when I found all this info online about it, which made me even more wary.

Had a call from a guy with an Indian accent claiming to be from Amazon, saying there was some suspicious activity on my account and a big purchase was made. He asked me to check stuff on my computer, which seemed odd. When I asked him to confirm my email, he couldn't do it. So I told him to send me an email and then I just ended the call. Later, I went online and checked my Amazon account and everything was fine. Pretty obvious they just wanted to hack into my PC.

01259762218 called, saying they were from Amazon, checking if I’d ordered an iPhone costing £399. They wanted me to confirm the email address. When I asked whose email, they said my husband’s surname then his first name. I told them they should find a proper job because it’s wrong to trick people into sharing private info. I ended the call, but since my Amazon account was hacked not long ago, the call left me pretty uneasy. :( :(

Been getting calls from this number about 6 times over the past couple days. I never picked up and let it go to my voicemail. They didn’t leave any message but once I heard the voicemail tone, the call got switched over to what sounded like a call centre. After seeing other reviews, I’m pretty sure it’s some kind of scam!

Got a call from 01259762218 yesterday, with someone claiming to be from Amazon. They asked if I ordered something on my phone the night before and whether I’d got a confirmation email. I instantly knew it was a scam and was pretty blunt with them. I've had similar calls before, telling me my Prime membership needed renewing, which I knew wasn't true, so I just ignored those. On the evening of 27th July 2020, around 10.50pm, I got a call from 01259 762218. Some bloke named Paul asked if I’d spent £300 the night before, around 10pm. When I asked who he was, he said he was from Amazon trying to check on that purchase. Oddly, he gave a wrong postcode but somehow had my correct phone number. The number 01259 762218 turned out to be a private landline, and when I rang it back, someone said they were getting loads of calls that had nothing to do with them. Seems like whoever owns that line is getting hassled a lot because of these calls.

I got a call last night around 10, and the person said there was a Smart Phone bought on my Amazon account. They asked if I’d made the purchase, and I said no. The woman on the line said she’d send me a confirmation email and I should reply as soon as I get it.
