6 years***WARNING: SCAM ALERT*** Just had a rather dodgy call from the same number earlier today at 11 o'clock. If you’re with Sky, heed my warning-I was nearly duped! They rang me up to ask whether I’d been experiencing sluggish Internet lately, which had indeed been the case since I'd spoken with them a couple of weeks back. I ended up on the phone for two hours as they instructed me to log into my account and led me to a website that granted them control over my laptop. Next thing I know, my screen went black and they suggested it was all due to my Internet speed being 'adjusted'. They had all my router details, my personal info, and even mentioned a sum of £304 as compensation for my slow Internet. It was alarmingly convincing-the bloke seemed knowledgeable and helpful! But when I rang Sky to check, they confirmed it wasn’t them who called me. I immediately cancelled my debit card, and thankfully, no funds were withdrawn! However, it was a very close call. They even mentioned an engineer would be visiting me on Monday! So, I urge everyone to stay vigilant. I sensed something was off, and thankfully I reacted swiftly to avoid a scam!WARNINGSkySubmit Your Own Report (01253 980218)
