Although my phone number is ex-directory and listed with the Telephone Preference Service, I still found myself on the receiving end of a call from this number. An Asian gentleman's voice came through, and after he delivered his spiel, I swiftly went into full defence mode. I reiterated that my number was ex-directory, that I don't entertain calls from unfamiliar numbers, and requested him to remove me from any potential mailing lists, should he actually have one, given that they often rely on pooled numbers. After that, I bade him farewell and hung up. I could have sworn these companies are prohibited from contacting numbers registered with the TPS. It's high time these kinds of calls ceased; they're nothing more than an absolute annoyance!

Got a call from someone with a strange accent saying they were from the ‘accident investigation unit’ - didn’t buy it, just said cheerio and hung up!

My 81-year-old mum received a call from someone with an accent that seemed Asian. When she tried to cut the conversation short, he became quite aggressive, threatening to come round to our place. If he fancies a jaunt from Blackpool to North Wales, he’s more than welcome, but he should prepare himself - I’ll be waiting for him!

Got a call from someone with a weird foreign accent, said they were from some kind of accident support service. Pretty obvious it was a scam. I just ended the call right away, no point in entertaining it. Best to just hang up on these suspicious calls.

Received a call with an Indian accent amidst quite a bit of background noise. The caller claimed that someone linked to this number had been involved in an accident. I have a strong suspicion this is just another cold call attempting to peddle accident compensation claims.
