7 hoursJust got a call from someone claiming to be from British Gas, said they needed to schedule a meter reading at my workplace. I told them I’ve never had to arrange for anyone before and that I wasn’t falling for it. Hung up straight away!British Gas8 hoursGot a call from some scammer claiming they needed to swap out my electricity meter. I was like, nah, I don’t think so, as they weren’t ringing from my actual energy company. He kept insisting but I cut him off, saying I already checked with my supplier earlier today and they hadn’t sent anyone. Just to warn folks, they're also using this number: 02039832456.2 daysEvery time someone says they’re from British Gas, it's almost always with an Indian accent. They’re calling from fake numbers and it’s obviously a scam, watch out!British Gas3 daysGot a call that claimed to be from British Gas - the person had an Indian accent and was really persistent. They kept pushing for info, which I reckon is all about trying to slip past British Gas’ security and probably sign you up to some dodgy contract so they can make a quick buck from a broker fee. Definitely sounded like a scam to me.British GasGasSubmit Your Own Report (01386 555932)
