Got a call from someone pushing replacement windows, claiming there’s a gov grant to cover windows older than 10 years. I told them my home’s only about 6 years old, but they tried to convince me the grant could be used for plastic cladding instead. Proper dodgy telemarketers, and they didn’t even care that I’m on the TPS list.

I’ve been getting calls from this number twice a day for the last fortnight. I tend to let them ring out if I don’t know who's calling, but it’s really tiresome having to get up to retrieve my phone from the dock each time. Who’s responsible for peddling these digits, I wonder? Could it possibly be local businesses? The calls began shortly after I reached out to a hotel in Blackpool.

I recently received a rather dubious cold call from a company claiming they could carry out double glazing repairs at no cost whatsoever. They tried to convince me that although my warranty expired a decade ago, I had taken out some sort of extended warranty. They were incredibly insistent, promising a complimentary survey and stating that all their services would be entirely free. It was quite clear they knew exactly how to target their audience, and I must admit, they were rather convincing in their approach.

After digging around, I discovered that the caller is actually Skyways, a company that deals with double glazing. Had a rather annoying call earlier from Skyways Window Repair, located on Cornford Road in Blackpool, Lancashire FY4 4QQ. The number was 01253 407068, and they were all keen to chat about my double glazing. I told them I wasn’t interested, so I hung up. Before I knew it, they rang me again - I let it ring out for what felt like ages. They must have called back for at least a minute! It’s frustrating because I’m signed up with the Telephone Preference Service, yet these sales calls keep rolling in under the guise of “surveys”.
