Got calls on my home phone and mobile. The mobile rang off to voicemail and there was some weird robotic message, so I just trashed it straightaway. My mum picked up the home phone, and when they asked for me, she said I wasn’t around, they came up with some rubbish excuse and then hung up. The funny bit? I actually live in France! No idea how they managed to get hold of both numbers since French dialling codes are totally different.

Got a call from this number on my home phone at about 14:22 on 12/8/22 but it went straight to voicemail since I was busy with some important work on my computer. Didn’t pick up, but the message said I could call back on 03339997269 and nothing else. I’m quite cautious about giving out any personal details over the phone to strangers unless it’s a company I’ve previously dealt with, mostly for security reasons. Appreciate the heads up about who it might be, will probably block this number just to be safe.

I’ve blocked this number so it goes straight to voicemail now. Someone from Capquest rang me saying I owe money from an old address, but when I refused to give my info, they wouldn’t share any details either. I keep getting texts and emails from them too, even though I’ve blocked so many times, some still sneak through. I looked them up online and it seems like they’re a dodgy debt firm, supposedly trying to chase debts linked to phone companies. I definitely don’t owe them a penny.

Lol just messing around, debts are a load of rubbish anyway. When you look at the bigger picture, debts are hardly worth stressing over. We've been getting done over for ages - get wise to how paper money is made and funneled into banks, know your rights as a living person, and take back control. Capstar: a right dodgy call from a Geordie. I found this conversation rather unsettling. They had a name and then insisted on getting my address and date of birth. I recorded the whole thing and plan to take it to the authorities. The caller mentioned a personal issue, which led me to believe it was about a family member who had passed, especially considering they said they were from Scotland. If this is a legitimate outfit, then they really ought to reconsider how they handle these calls. The way they went about asking for sensitive information was anything but above board. I absolutely refused to divulge my birthday and address since the caller wouldn’t share any details with me. It all felt seriously unprofessional. I suspect this might be a scam, especially since I've encountered something similar with Amazon-related frauds over thirty times now. My advice? NEVER provide your name or date of birth unless you can clearly confirm who’s calling and that they can substantiate their inquiry with relevant company details and a valid reason for the call.

I attempted to get in touch with a certain Gillian Barron, but the person on the line insisted there was no one by that name. When I inquired about Marine View, he chuckled and remarked that it sounded rather like a coastal locale. I apologised for the intrusion, and he assured me he would take my number off his list. Now it’s just a waiting game to see if he actually follows through or if I end up getting calls back from some more landlocked address.

01252 765521 rang our company: I picked up and said: Hello, ABC Limited - silence. Tried again, "Hello ABC Limited?" - still nothing. "Hello? Anyone there?" - finally, after a lot of static from the cold calling system connecting, a bloke answers just before 7pm on a Monday, "Is this a business line?" I said yes, "How can I help?" He immediately says, "Oops, wrong number, I’ll get this taken off my list," and hangs up. What a rubbish gig that must be. People must be really struggling to do this!

Received calls from several different numbers claiming to be Capquest (not sure if that’s legit since they all seem to be from a dodgy auto-dialler, and the only info I can find linking them to these numbers is from “who called me” type sites). If it genuinely is Capquest, they really ought to be penalised for using those auto-diallers that hang up as soon as you answer. They’ve been banned for ages now.
