10 yearsI got a call from an Asian guy initially, then soon after a lady who sounded Asian too rang me saying my computer was infected with horrible viruses. I told her I don’t use a PC, only a tablet, but she insisted I had a computer. We went back and forth for a bit before I just ended the call. Complete muppets. I contacted BT afterwards, and they confirmed they’re exactly like Microsoft - they NEVER ring you up for this kinda stuff. Definitely another dodgy scam.BTMicrosoft10 yearsGot calls from a guy with an Asian accent claiming he was from BT. Over the past few weeks, he kept ringing asking me to verify my name, address, and DOB. When I asked why, he said there were problems with my internet, which isn’t true at all. Told him I wasn’t giving any info, and his response was to call me a liar before hanging up on me. Seems like a total scam to me, especially since I’m ex-directory. Just to set the record straight, I actually rang BT myself and they confirmed they haven’t been trying to contact me.BT10 yearsI received a rather suspicious call from a chap with an accent that hinted at Asian origins, claiming to be from BT. He went on about how my internet connection was supposedly being accessed by an unauthorised user. He probed about the status of my router lights and even inquired if he could remotely access my computer. When I mentioned I didn't own one, he then wanted to know how I surfed the web. At that point, I sensed something was off, so I told him I doubted he was genuinely from BT and decided to end the call. I've since blocked that number.BT10 yearsGot a call from a guy with an Asian accent claiming someone else was using my BT internet. He asked if I’d spotted anything unusual, how many lights were showing on my router, and if he could get onto my computer. When I told him I don’t have a PC, he then wanted to know how I connect to the internet. That’s when I just told him I didn’t think he was really from BT and ended the call. I’ve since blocked the number.BT10 yearsReceived a call from someone of Asian descent who had the audacity to claim I was Greek. I promptly told him where to stick his nonsense! Definitely not a representative of TalkTalk!TalkTalk10 yearsI picked up the call, but there was nothing but silence on the other end. Since Talk Talk suffered that cyber incident, I've been receiving numerous calls. They purport to be from Talk Talk, insisting they're here to help with some supposed computer virus, but that's definitely not true.Talk Talk10 yearsI received a call from an individual claiming to represent TalkTalk. He mentioned that my computer had been compromised after supposedly visiting social media platforms. I swiftly pointed out that I don’t actually use any social media and concluded that it was nothing more than a scam. Definitely not TalkTalk!TalkTalkSubmit Your Own Report (01251 254589)
