I've had a few calls from this number and I just don't pick up because it seems like some kind of scam. Definitely feels dodgy to me.

I got a call from an Asian guy who was really rude. When I told him I wasn’t falling for his scam and that I’d report him, he went off, calling me a proper nasty name. Such awful behaviour.

I kept getting calls from this dodgy number, so in the end I blocked it on my Panasonic phone setup.

Got a call round 10:45 from a guy speaking with a heavy Asian accent claiming to be Daniel from BT security. He said he was worried someone else might be using our internet connection. Like BT would even bother! I kept telling him we don’t have BT and just kept saying it till he finally gave up and hung up. Totally a scam, no doubt about it.

"Virgin Media's support team" - I think this marks the sixth call since the festive season, plus one cheeky call from TalkTalk. They informed me there was an issue with my router. Utter fraudsters, if you ask me. I ended up squandering 20 minutes of their time by feigning ignorance about tech and entering wrong info. When I first answered, the chap on the line claimed to be at 81 Newgate Street in London, a BT premises no less! Then I was handed over to a so-called "supervisor" who claimed to reside at 179 Harrow Road. Interestingly, he mentioned that the first fellow had forgotten he was no longer with BT! I strongly suspect they’re running a scam on unsuspecting customers from various service providers, causing utter chaos in their operation. The supervisor claimed he hailed from London, yet when I pointed out his Indian accent, he seemed quite taken aback!

Totally with what everyone else said here. I just hit him with some super old school Anglo Saxon lingo, made his head spin a bit!

I got a call from an Asian man claiming he was with BT. When I asked for my account details, he couldn’t provide any. Definitely wasn’t BT on the line.

Got a call earlier from an Asian lady saying she was from BT and that my router was infected with a virus. She asked me to grab my laptop but when I asked her to verify the account name she just ended the call. Definitely a scam.

Had the same thing happen to me today, pretty sure it's a scam.

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent claiming to be BT worried about my internet. Was proper fed up with all their calls so I just ended the call there and then.

Got a few calls from this bloke pretending to be from BT’s security team. He speaks with an Asian accent that sounds a bit off, nearly like he’s faking it. He tells you to check your BT hub and count the number of blue lights showing. Then he claims someone’s stealing your internet. The real dodgy bit comes when he asks you to open a command prompt on your computer and type some code so he can "fix" stuff remotely. After that, he says you’ve got a virus and wants hundreds of quid to sort it out. We keep getting these calls but we’re definitely not BT customers.

I got a call from a guy who said he was Alan Watson and claimed to be calling from BT. He sounded Asian. Somehow, after I spoke, he just cut me off - gotta be something to do with the way I talked!

People trying to scam you out of your cash really need to be stopped for good.

So this woman called me up with a thick Goan accent, saying she was from BT Technical Support. She claimed my router was hacked and needed some sort of cleaning. She had me type strange commands in the CMD prompt, like c: inf.hacking files and also CD.. twice, which apparently showed the directory tree. Then she asked me to log into TeamViewer using ID 935062196 and a password X639K9. Nearly got taken in if I wasn’t actually working for BT myself. She got really angry when I asked technical questions, which sounded pretty sketchy. If you get a call from 01251259878, just hang up!

Today I got a call from someone saying they were with BT.

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent saying my router was the problem. They said they were from BT and apologised, said they’d send me £200 as compensation. It’s clearly a massive scam. This was the fourth time they’ve called in a week. I’ve already reported it to Action Fraud. Seems like there’s loads of these going around.

I got a call yesterday from a chap with an Asian accent who claimed to be 'Dave' from BT. He was asking for my BT Internet password. I was a bit suspicious, so I rang BT first thing today and they confirmed it was indeed a scam. I was really close to having my computer compromised!

Today, I got a call from this number and the person on the other end had a funny accent. They claimed to be from BT and warned that my internet wasn’t safe. They wanted me to log into my PC so they could sort it out for me. I told them I’d contact BT myself to make sure I was speaking to the right people, then they just ended the call.

Had a call from a bloke with a thick accent saying our internet was compromised. He wanted my partner to switch on the PC but when my partner said no way, because he didn’t trust the caller, the guy just disconnected. Totally a SCAM.

this week has been rough with loads of calls from different numbers, then today i get this guy with an asian accent ringing me. i told him straight up that his call was dodgy and wow, was he quick to reply all aggressive. it turned into a shouting match real fast! honestly, i just needed to let off some steam, so i gave him a proper earful. never thought i'd hear an asian bloke swear that much, totally unexpected! sometimes these calls are a weird way to blow off tension.

Got a call from an Asian man saying there was an issue with my PC, he wanted my info. Whatever you do, don't share anything, it's 100% a con.

This person keeps ringing non stop. Seriously, dont answer because they try to get into your computer remotely. Total nightmare!

I received a phone call at half-past eight in the morning on the 21st of January, 2017, from an Asian gentleman claiming to represent B.T. He mentioned that there was an issue with my internet connection. I firmly told him that he wasn't affiliated with B.T. and accused him of attempting to scam me. I added that I don’t even own a computer, so I wished him to stop calling my number. After that, I hung up.

I got a call from a guy with an Asian accent saying that others were connected to my internet and using it without permission. When I tried to get more details, he just went off on a weird tangent, so I just ended the call. Pretty sure it’s a scam.

Got a call from a woman with a really strong Asian accent claiming to be from BT. She said my computer had been compromised and I’d been hacked. When I asked if she needed to connect to my computer, she said no. Then when I asked which device she was referring to, she started getting annoyed. I asked for her contact number because I wasn’t buying it, and she just tried to give me the usual BT customer service line. I could hear a man in the background having a similar chat with someone else. Eventually, she just ended the call on me.

Got a call from some bloke with a asian accent who said there was an issue with our bt internet. When i asked his name, he said Aaron Smith. Kept asking if he actually worked for bt but he just dodged the question and then just hung up on me. They've phoned me like ten times over the last week from the same number. Definitely a scam, so dont share any personal details with them.

Got a call from a man with an Asian accent claiming he was from BT about my router. He tried to get remote access to my computer. As soon as I started asking him questions, he just ended the call. Totally dodgy, definitely a scam.

Got a call from a woman speaking with an Asian accent claiming to be from BT, offering to fix our computer. We played along and asked plenty of questions, making her stay on the line longer than she expected. In the end, she hung up after we wouldn't let her turn on our computer to ‘assist’ us. Definitely felt like a scam. When we looked up the number, it showed as connected to a solicitor's office in London, but trying to ring it back came up as an unknown number.
