Got a call about a 999 pound charge for some amazon renewal. They kept saying to press 1 to cancel it, sounded dodgy to me. Be careful, could be a scam!

Got a robotic message saying it was from HMRC, threatening to freeze my National Insurance and passport if I didn't act. It asked me to press 1 to talk to someone, but when I did, the call just got cut off. Definitely dodgy, so I blocked the number straight away.

Got a call back in December 2023 from someone using a female voice with an American accent, saying they were from “Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs” (yeah, they said ‘Her’ like that), threatening me with prosecution. They told me to hit 2 if I wanted to know more. Total scam, obviously.
