2 yearsA bloke called me up saying my complimentary two years of coverage was up, and I needed to pay for the next three years of television cover. I informed him that I didn’t have any cover at all. He mentioned I could cancel it, but there’d be a cancellation fee of £79. I asked him to send over the contract with my signature, and that I’d handle the matter from there. He agreed and then abruptly ended the call.2 yearsI had a rather dubious call from a fellow claiming that we signed up for some electrical service and benefitted from free coverage for the last two years. Now, apparently, we owe for another three years! When I requested to receive a copy of this supposed contract, he insisted that my husband had acknowledged receiving it two years back-mind you, my husband doesn’t even use email! Things got a bit dodgy when I asked for the debit card information he planned to use for the payment; suddenly, he cut the line. Quite the sketchy encounter!2 yearsThe chap informed me that my television warranty had expired. He appeared to be of African descent.2 yearsI received a call today regarding coverage for electrical appliances. The caller insisted that I would be billed £399 if I didn't accept their discount offer. I firmly told them to leave me be.2 yearsI received a call from this number, but they didn’t bother to leave a message. After checking the comments here, it seems to be a scam operation. We are on the Telephone Preference Service list, yet it appears these dodgy characters have no regard for that. They’re likely not even based in Chelmsford at all!Chelmsford2 yearsAn Asian woman rang me, requesting to chat with my wife but only referred to her by her initials and surname. When I mentioned that I held power of attorney for my wife, she informed me there was an issue with a direct debit related to a policy my wife supposedly had with their company, claiming they had dispatched a letter the week prior. I suggested she should send another letter and then ended the call.2 yearsThe caller claimed to be from a random organisation, rattling off some abbreviation or other, and proceeded to mention updates regarding an "account" I supposedly held with them. I promptly informed him that I had no such account in existence. And then - nothing but utter silence!2 yearsThey called me by name but hung up abruptly. Quite puzzling, really!2 yearsMy mother recently got a rather dubious call from someone purporting to represent Home and Drainage Protection Services. This particular number, ending in 65, has been ringing her since the 10th of January. They pressured her to fork out £300, but offered a tempting deal-if she paid right then and there, they could slash the price in half. We promptly blocked that number, but annoyingly, we’ve been inundated with calls from variations ending in 63, 64, and 65. It’s clearly a scam operation since they’ve kept switching numbers. When my mum insisted on having the information sent in writing instead of paying over the phone, the caller simply hung up. I cannot stress enough how important it is to remain vigilant. Never feel obliged to make any payments via phone unless you are absolutely certain of who you’re conversing with!Home and Drainage Protection Services3 yearsMy landline just rang, and the moment I answered, the other person disconnected. Quite strange, really!3 yearsOver the past 48 hours, I’ve gotten six calls from this number.3 yearsAlmost every cold call you get is a scam these days, seriously like 99.9%. If you want them to quit bothering you, you gotta report them. Otherwise, they just keep coming back. Check out the info below on how to do that.3 yearsI got a call from someone claiming to be with Homecare. Since I actually have two policies with them, I gave them a listen. But then they started talking about a TV repair policy, which I don’t have at all, so I just told them I wasn’t interested and hung up.3 yearsI picked up the call and could hear someone speaking a foreign language in the background, after a bit they just ended the call.3 yearsI've been receiving multiple calls daily for weeks on end. They never leave a voicemail, yet I can overhear male voices on the line. Could it be a call centre, or perhaps some dodgy scam attempt?3 yearsA woman with a strong foreign accent keeps ringing us up, saying she's offering a £200 refund on our phone bill. Whenever we try to ask which phone company she’s with, she just ignores it and pushes on about the refund. She’s called a few times now, so we just end up hanging on them straight away.Submit Your Own Report (01245 981862)
