Received a call this evening from someone claiming they would be withdrawing money from my husband’s debit card. It had an odd vibe to it, and the whole interaction felt rather one-sided and unsettling.

I received a call today from someone asking to talk to my wife, but they flat-out refused to engage with me. When I pressed for details about their intentions or even their identity, they just dodged the questions entirely. Quite mysterious, wouldn’t you say?

I got a call from someone claiming it was about appliance insurance, which I don’t even have! She kept going on about some final payment being due. I told her she was talking nonsense and ended the call. The voice sounded Indian and she sounded like she was in a noisy call centre, hard to catch what she was saying. Blocked the number straight away.

Loads of numbers beginning with 01245 have been ringing my mum constantly about some TV insurance payout. Over the past three weeks, she’s been getting calls, sometimes three or four times daily from different phone numbers. They’re always saying if she doesn’t cough up £79 to cancel the policy, it’ll end up costing over £300. It’s really stressing her out. We can’t seem to block the numbers on her phone, so we might have to get a new phone just to get some peace and quiet.

My mum, who’s 80, got a call insisting she make a last payment for some TV repair plan. Thankfully, she knew to tell them to get lost and then blocked the caller. Not everyone’s going to be so sharp though. Watch out for these calls and make sure to report them!

On Tuesday, I got a phone call from this number claiming that my contract for electrical items was due for renewal. I had no knowledge of any such agreement, which immediately put me on high alert. The individual on the line requested the number from my bank card, and when I informed them that I couldn't provide it at that moment (which was the truth), they insisted I fetch it. Naturally, I chose to end the conversation there. Fast forward to today, and lo and behold, the same number rang me again. Once more, I declined to disclose any of the information they sought. This time, the caller responded with a barrage of profanities.

I received a rather dubious phone call from an individual claiming to represent a call centre, saying he was inquiring about my insurance for household appliances. Seemed rather fishy, if you ask me!

Got a call from someone claiming to be about appliance insurance - total scam.

Blocking these numbers is pretty useless, they just ring you back from a load of random fake or spoofed numbers generated by a computer. The only way to really put an end to these calls is by overloading the system dedicated to reporting such scams. I’ve added some info below on how to go about it.

I got a call from someone asking for a Mr. Hee-ward, or at least that’s how they said it. The bloke at the other end sounded a bit unsure if he was saying the name right. When I told him to take me off their list, he just ended the call. Seemed like he was speaking with an English accent.

This was totally dodgy, they tried to get me to give my bank card info for some maintenance plan for our telly that doesn’t even exist. Classic scam.
