Got a voicemail saying “there was an attempt to take £600 from your account to a foreign country, press 1 to approve or deny.” Total scam, no bank or credit card company would ever leave a message like that. Isn’t this some kind of false advertising or fraud? Surely they could get in trouble or fined? Found this site, had a look, and blocked the number straight away.

I received a rather peculiar call informing me that the grant for my loft insulation had been approved, and they claimed they could do the same for any timber windows I might have - which is quite amusing, considering I have neither! This number rings me like all the time, but luckily I've got the BT CallBlocker and it nips it in the bud automatically. They keep trying but since they’re blocked, it’s not a bother at all. Big cheers to BT for that and also to this site! Whenever I get a number I don’t recognise, I pop it into "who-called" and deal with it as needed. If it was something legit, they’d get past the BT filter and leave a voicemail or something. Honestly, I get a right kick out of shutting these lot down!!

Answered the phone, some guy called Kenneth from Samurai Style. Sounded very northern. He said they were doing energy checks near me or something. Let him talk for a while, even pointed out some of his grammar mistakes, then just as I was gonna say I wasn't interested, he just cuts off the call! I reckon they're from Bolton, probably trying to push replacement windows.
