Just received a rather disconcerting call from this number a minute back. The bloke on the line was insisting I was someone called “Bethany Harrington,” which, as you can imagine, I am decidedly not. I politely informed him that he had dialled the wrong number and that I have no acquaintance by that name. To my astonishment, he began bellowing at me, demanding to know why I was “running away” from the conversation. I repeated that he was mistaken-once again asserting that I am not Bethany-only for him to holler at me once more, insisting he'd verified my number and that I indeed was Bethany. I maintained my stance, and then he escalated, accusing me of being the one who was shouting and rude. To top it all off, he gave me an unsettling vibe, practically issuing a threat. He didn’t disclose where he was calling from, nor did he mention any company affiliation. It’s definitely wise to be cautious if you get a call from this number!

This number keeps ringing me even though I’ve tried to block it loads of times. The person on the line says they’re from Telephone Preference Management and gives a name, but there’s always loads of background noise, which you wouldn’t expect from a real caller. I also got an automated call with an American accent from 020 7223 8099 saying I’d blocked a number but they could connect me anyway. On one call, can’t remember which exactly, they told me my router was hacked. Complete rubbish.

A lady said she was calling from the Call Preference Service, then handed me over to some “supervisor” called Henry who sounded like he was from India (seriously??). He claimed they wanted to 'renew' my subscription. I figured I'd mess with the muppet a bit and he asked for my preference service authorisation code, said it’d be on my bank card below the expiry and my name - essentially the bank sort code. I wasn’t having any of it, doubted his story and just hung up. Total scam!
