Someone called saying they were with Currys Mobile, part of Currys PC World, pushing some service plan deals. There was loads of background noise like it was a call centre. When I asked if this was a cold marketing call, they admitted it was. I told them I hadn’t given permission for such calls and asked them to take my info off their list straight away. They agreed and hung up. Seeing other reviews about this number pretending to be from different companies, it smells like a scammer trying to trick people by pretending to be from legit brands to steal info.

I received a rather cheeky call from someone claiming my Amazon Prime account was on the verge of cancellation and that I was to cough up £39 right then and there. Quite the laugh, really, given that I’ve never even had an Amazon Prime account, let alone any account with those lot! When I pointed this out, the delightful chap told me to “get lost” and added some rather unkind wishes for my demise. How charming! What a laugh it all was!

Got a call from this number earlier on my phone, and I swear it sounded like a call centre buzzing in the background. I use Truecaller, and it showed up as "Likely Sales," so obviously one of those random sales calls. From what I understand, these kinds of calls are meant to be banned under the latest data protection rules since companies aren’t allowed to ring you without asking first. I never gave permission for this, so that felt dodgy. Truecaller said it’s a landline linked to Net-Work Internet Ltd. I’m done with them now, so I’ve blocked the number right away.

Received a call claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse, offering me an iPhone 13 for £38 a month. They then inquired about my current phone and network provider. I decided to end the conversation. Just ten seconds later, my phone rang again from 01239 200115, which I believe is based in Cardigan, Wales. Quite impressive, really-making that swift journey from Arbroath in Scotland to Cardigan in such a short span of time!
