Received a call from this number claiming that there were a couple of transactions deducted from my bank account. Instinctively, I suspected it might be a scam since my bank isn't privy to my home phone number. So, I decided it was best to just hang up.

I got a call from someone saying they were with BT, talking about my internet service. They didn’t even ask for my name, which seemed odd, so I just ended the call. Later, I made sure to tell BT about the suspicious call.

Got a call claiming to be from BT. Told them straight away that we weren’t falling for it and to never call back. Ended the call pretty quick, but they did sound pretty convincing, which worries me for older folks who might not spot the scam. It's frustrating they seem to get away with it, feels like they’re just invading our privacy with no consequences.

This bloke claimed he was from Windows support and said there was an issue with my computer. I told him to buzz off and mentioned I’d ring the police, and then he started getting really rude.

I received a call from a hectic call centre, and the person on the other end had a thick foreign accent. When I requested them to cease calling me and remove my number from their system, their response was rather crude; they actually told me to come over and indulge in a rather vulgar act!

I received a call from someone named "John," who insisted he was with BT. Honestly, his accent was quite thick, and I couldn’t quite place it-perhaps Indian? There were unmistakable sounds of a call centre buzzing in the background. He informed me that there was a problem with my internet connection, which supposedly explained my sluggish speeds. Oddly enough, he hinted that he could straighten everything out with little trouble, provided I granted him remote access to my device. Apparently, he needed to install some software to sort out the issue. This number has bothered me multiple times; sometimes they even switch things up and pretend to be from Microsoft. It all seems a bit dodgy if you ask me!

I received a call earlier today from this number, with someone claiming to be from Microsoft’s tech support. They were insisting that my computer had some corrupted files. The caller mentioned a lengthy sequence of digits and urged me to access my computer, yet they didn’t even inquire about the type of machine I was using. When I asked them to provide more details so I could jot it down for my IT team at work, they dismissed the idea, saying it would take too long. They were quite persistent in trying to get me to log on, but I firmly told them that wasn’t happening. Eventually, we decided to wrap up the conversation, and I was able to look up the number here.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from BT, sounded Indian, saying I was getting error messages whenever I tried to go online. He kept telling me to log onto my computer right away so he could fix it. I told him I wasn’t sure and needed to have a proper look first, since it seemed dodgy. He then got really annoyed and said he was offended to be accused of scamming me!

This person claimed they were from Microsoft and told me there was a problem with my PC. When I asked them to tell me my own name, they just hung up on me. I’m pretty sure it’s one of those scams. Next time they ring, I’ll pretend I’m an elderly lady who’s not quite with it, pretending to want to purchase some windows for my home. Let them try!

Today, I received yet another call - just like everyone else, it seems. I decided to play along and told them they had already been in touch with me. The bloke on the other end insisted that the prior call was dodgy and promised to provide me with an identification number for verification. Feeling a bit fed up, I ended the conversation, only for him to ring me again with an absurdly lengthy ID number. It got rather tedious, so I hung up once more. He ended up calling me again after that. I suppose I managed to occupy quite a bit of his time, and fingers crossed, he was just as exasperated as we often are!

This has gotta be a scam for sure. The best way I found to get rid of these annoying calls permanently was to get one of those call blocking devices, like BT Guardian. I've just got a corded phone, so tough luck if you want to ring me - it just sits there ringing and then no one answers. For about six months, I was getting bombarded with calls, sometimes 12 a week, and once even 15 in one day, totalling nearly 500 calls! Setting the blocker up was a bit fiddly at first, but honestly, once it’s running, it’s a total relief.
