Got a couple of calls today from someone with a strong Indian subcontinent accent asking if I own a Microsoft PC. They rang me twice, once at about 8:30 and then again around 10:20. When I said I don’t have one of those computers, the first caller sounded a bit shocked. The second time, the person sounded annoyed after I told them to take me off their calling list. The calls came from an Abingdon number, which I’ve been getting repeatedly over the past few months. Definitely seems like a scam to me.

I keep receiving numerous calls from this number each week, despite having informed them that I'm aware it's a scam. It's incredibly frustrating!

They’ve called me 19 times since the 17th of Nov, but I usually just ignore it. I did call back once, but an automated voice said "The number you’ve dialed isn’t recognised." Sometimes it even shows up as "International" before the number.

I’ve had this number ring me 19 times since the 17th of November. I simply ignore the calls, although I did attempt to return one call, only to be met with a robotic voice saying, "The number you've reached is not recognised." Occasionally, it shows up as “International” followed by the number. Quite the nuisance, I must say!

They keep ringing me. Got a call earlier today claiming to be from windows tech support. I just hung up straight away cuz I'd gotten a similar one before. Really sketchy, do NOT engage, just hang up and block the number if your phone lets you.

I didn’t bother chatting with them, just told them no thank you. I’m registered with the TPS and my number’s ex-directory, but I reckon it used to be linked to a business, which is why the calls keep coming. What is it with these people? Surely hardly anyone falls for it now - or are there still loads of people who’re easily fooled?

Got a call from someone claiming to be a "Microsoft" tech support bloke sayin’ there was a virus on my PC. Loads of nonsense. You really gotta just tune these calls out. I know a mate who fell for it, gave them the info they wanted, and ended up having £5000 nicked from his bank. Thankfully his bank was understanding and gave him the money back in the end.

Got a call from that number on my work mobile earlier, some bloke pretending to be from Microsoft saying my computer was infected with a serious virus. I told him I don’t even use a computer at work, and he just lost it, swearing like crazy. When I challenged him because it sounded so daft, he just kept on with more awful language. Lucky for him, I was with a client and couldn’t give him a piece of my mind like I wanted to!

First up, a bloke who said he was Richard from Microsoft Senior Tech Support rang me. He claimed there was an issue with my router. I told him to buzz off. Then, about five minutes later, a woman called saying her name was Sophie. She said my computer was full of serious viruses. When I told her someone else had just rung and I’d reported them to the "Fraud Squad," she got really nasty and just hung up. Both had really strong Asian accents.

I had a call from this number earlier and sadly ended up on my computer where it got messed up. The bloke on the phone spoke with an Asian accent and said he was from Microsoft. How on earth do they get hold of landline numbers? And how do they know I was having tech issues - I was actually downloading updates from the official Microsoft site. Are they spying on the website or something? The guy wasn’t keen on answering any of my questions, just kept saying my PC was infected - which definitely wasn’t true!

The call ended before I managed to pick up - but honestly, I probably wouldn’t have answered. It’s good to know I’m not the only one dealing with this. What confuses me is why BT can’t just block these numbers since it’s supposedly a UK number.

So, I received a call from a chap named Sean claiming to be with the Windows team. There was a fair bit of background noise, and he seemed to have an Indian accent. He mentioned that someone had been accessing my IP address early this morning, around 4 to 5. When I requested his contact number to ring him back, he abruptly ended the call. It's puzzling, especially since I'm registered with TPS; I can't fathom how these calls still get through!

Got a call from a woman with an accent I couldn't place, connection was rubbish, claimed to be from Microsoft asking if I was the main user of the computer. She just said goodbye after that. I’m sure they’ll try again, but how do they even have my unlisted number? It’s really worrying. These annoying calls need to be stopped somehow.

I've received countless calls from individuals purporting to be representatives of the Microsoft Windows technical support team. Despite my requests for them to cease their calls, they insist on bothering me. Just today, they rang me again, so I decided to hang up. To my surprise, they phoned right back, and in a cheeky moment, I blew a raspberry into the receiver. Can you believe it? They ended the call on me! How utterly impolite! 😂

I've received a couple of phone calls recently, and today I decided to pick up. An Asian gentleman was on the other end, claiming to be part of Microsoft's technical support team, discussing issues with my computer. I quickly replied, "No thanks, I'm not interested," and suddenly, the call just cut off.

This number rang me twice too. 07926075215 Called once at 9 in the morning but I didn’t pick up, then again around 2:30pm. The bloke sounded Asian/Indian and said he was from Reading, talking about Microsoft partners and all that. I wasted like half an hour pretending to follow what he told me on my computer before I told him where to shove it. What’s odd is the number itself. Looks like a mobile, and it’s an O2 number. Surely that’s something they can track?

Just got a ring on my home phone from a bloke with an Indian accent saying there’s something wrong with Windows on my PC and that I’ve been hacked. I didn’t really bother with him, just told him I had no idea how he got my unlisted number and to bugger off and not call again, then I hung up. From my experience, that usually does the trick!!!

I would advise against engaging with this individual. He appeared to be of Asian descent and became quite hostile when I mentioned that I had to leave the conversation. He repeatedly insisted that he would continue to phone me unless I obliged. Please take care and avoid any interaction.

I've received four calls from this number in the past week. I picked up twice and spoke to a rather pushy chap with an Asian accent-when I mentioned that the issue wasn't on my end but rather with him, he got quite hostile. I plan to get in touch with my service provider to have this nuisance blocked for good.

Sounds like the same lot ringing from 01235 654125 - a really pushy group of foreign scammers pretending to be from Microsoft saying your PC has a virus and they’ll fix it if you let them take control, but really they just want your bank info. 01235 is an Abingdon area code, but when I try calling these numbers back, it just says 'number not recognised, please check and try again'. My phone can’t block calls, so I save their numbers and give them a special ring tone so I know when they're calling. Best thing is to mess with them a bit, act clueless, then just tell them to sod off!

Got a call from this number today, some bloke with an Indian accent claimed he was from Microsoft. I asked him, "Are you sure you’re from Microsoft? For the past week, I've been bombarded with calls from this number. I've got caller ID and have simply been disregarding them, but my partner picked up yesterday and was met with some rather strange heavy breathing. He attempted to return the call, which in hindsight was perhaps not the wisest move, and ended up hearing a message that the number was unrecognised. When they decided to ring again this morning, I tried calling back only to be greeted by the speaking clock! If they persist with these annoying calls, I might just entertain them next time, hoping it might convince them to take a hint and leave me alone.

I've received more than a dozen calls throughout the week, most of which continued coming in even after I blocked the number, which thankfully kept them from bothering me too much. I've yet to engage with anyone, as I'm just not in the right frame of mind to deal with these lowlifes at the moment. I've reported the issue to OffCom, though I doubt they’ll take any meaningful steps. Honestly, that number ought to have been disconnected by now. If it were up to me, I'd send in the special forces to deal with these pests, and I'd definitely pay to see the action unfold! It’s absolute scum like this who really shouldn’t be around!

Got 7 calls on my landline in just 2 days after I last deleted my call log and reported the number to Ofcom, though I doubt they'll do anything about it! Before that, I was getting at least 12 calls in a week. I've blocked the number on my phone now so they can't bother us, but honestly, some proper steps need to be taken. Me? I'd happily send in the SAS and sort the [email protected] out. Would love to see that on video for sure!

I've just had a look online about this phone number and it turns out it's a scam! Cheers to everyone who commented; your insights were super helpful. I got the first call at 9 in the morning on a weekend, followed by another just half an hour later. I’m curious to see when they'll ring again. They’re going to wish they hadn’t bothered! I received a call on the 26th of November regarding a supposed Microsoft error, which turned out to be a scam. The individual on the line introduced himself as Lewis. When I requested a callback number, he gave me the number 1444891514.

I've missed several calls from these people, about five or six, and finally picked up this morning at 8:46am on a Saturday. When I asked which computer they were referring to (I don’t even use Windows), the bloke snapped, "Are you an idiot?" I was stunned and thought maybe I’d misheard his heavy accent, so I asked, "Did you just call me an idiot?" Then he doubled down, saying, "Yes, you’re an idiot and a bloody [expletive]." I’m a 46 year old woman and definitely wasn’t expecting my weekend to start off like this. Lovely.

Got a call from some scammers in India trying to hack into my computer - watch out for these lot. Tried messing around with them for a laugh but they’re really quick to lose their temper, not much fun at all.

My landline has been ringing non-stop, like 5 times in just a couple hours. It’s driving me mad!! Honestly, just leave me alone!!

Just like the previous incidents, this caller launched into some rather unsavoury remarks once I mentioned I was using a Mac. Honestly, what a collection of disturbed individuals!

Someone said they were from Microsoft and asked me to sit at my computer and hit some keys. When I didn’t follow what they wanted, they started calling me a stupid British idiot. They admitted to scamming about 20 people from the UK each day and told me to just hang up. Then they said they can’t stand the British and told me to shove my computer where the sun doesn’t shine.

Complete scam, just folks faffin about saying they’re from Microsoft and trying to get into your computer. I tried ringing back on 01235 650005 just to give them a piece of my mind, but the number was dead. He said he was Danial Scot from Paddington, London. They’ve been bothering us for two days straight now.

I keep receiving calls from these chaps claiming there’s an issue with my computer. I’ve told them I don’t own one, and then the line goes dead. I’ve now added them to my blocked contacts and let the answering machine do the work.

I've received countless calls from this number, all featuring a gentleman with an Asian accent claiming to represent the Microsoft Windows Tech Support. He insists that my computer is inundating them with error alerts. I sniffed out the scam immediately and told him to take a hike, yet the calls keep coming. I've now reached out to Virgin Media’s nuisance call team, and they’re going to put a stop to it. It really gives off a vibe of a call centre operation-certainly seems like a rather profitable racket!

Got a call at the exact same time for two days straight now. Each time I picked up after around 4 rings, it just ended the call right away, seems like some kind of auto-ring thing since no one spoke. Cheers for the other comments, I’ll just block them from now on.

This number keeps ringing, but I never pick up if I don’t know who it is. They never leave a voicemail either. After checking this site and a few others, I’m pretty sure it’s a scam using an auto dialer. My computer’s fine as it is, and I want to keep it that way!

Received a call from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming to be from Microsoft regarding my computer. I simply told him I don’t engage with unsolicited calls from someone who clearly knows nothing about my device, and he hung up promptly. I’ve toyed with these calls in the past, leading them on a wild goose chase just for a laugh, but unfortunately, I’m a bit too busy for that sort of nonsense today.

Had loads of calls from this number. As soon as I spotted it on this site, I blocked it using BT Callguard. If they ring twice and don’t even leave a message, you just know they’re up to no good. They’re worse than the worst, preying on the elderly and vulnerable. Honestly, they deserve to be locked up for good.

We got a call from this number 01235650005 at about 1:57pm today and I ignored it. Had to get a Mac tech over today cause our computer got some sort of virus, never had anything like this happen in 20 years. Just a heads up to anyone in yourhouse, this looks like a pricey scam mostly aimed at older folks. Stay safe!

Yep, it’s a boiler room operation near Lewes, East Sussex. The number’s been re-routed, and they aint from India or anywhere like that. It’s a really smart scam and they’re good at covering their tracks. We actually know the guy who owns it - he used to live in The Avenue, Lewes. He’s English and white, which is kinda funny!

they're checking phone lines for YOUR I.S.P AREA CODE and the mac addresses of your routers. the longer you keep talking, the higher the risk your router's mac could get hacked if you use landline internet or routers. after getting a call like this, ring up your phone or cable provider and inform them. they'll monitor your WAN and phone lines for any strange behaviour and try to trace who's behind it. it's up to you. never let anyone take remote control of your network through your pc, tablets, or phones over Wi-Fi.

Got a call from an asian guy claiming to be from Microsoft. He asked if I owned the computer and said it was sending error alerts to Microsoft Central, plus all my private info was apparently visible. When he told me to switch the computer on, I told him it sounded like a typical scam and he just cut off straight away.
