Some bloke claiming to be from Windows support saying my PC's got loads of rubbish downloaded and stuff, then they say it’s been blocked or something. Total rubbish.

This number has called me about 5 times over the past three days. I also got a few calls from another nearby number in Abingdon (also starting with 01235) that were just as annoying. Every caller had an Indian accent, mostly blokes but a few women too, all saying they were from Windows Tech Support. They insisted there was a security issue with my computer and one woman even tried to convince me she had my computer’s serial number. She read out a bunch of random letters and digits that made no sense at all. Is there any way to get these numbers blocked for good?

Got a call from this number today, bloke said he was John from Microsoft and asked if i was using this computer. I asked him to specify which computer he meant cos he’d rang the local police control room and i had to figure out which one outta the 45 machines there. He hung up pretty sharp after that.

got around 70 calls from someone called alex williams, when I asked to talk to his manager he suddenly changed his tone and claimed to be the floor manager. I told him there’s no computer involved, and he said he’d block my number. since then, they’ve called me 6 more times, same bloke - he probably thinks he’s some kinda joker.

Got a call from some Indian bloke this morning, after my missus handed me the phone. Took me like 5 seconds to clock it was a scam. So I just played along really slowly, answering every question so carefully. After a few mins of that faffing about, he finally gave up.

He’s called me a couple of times already. First time I told him straight it was a scam, second time he rang again but I’d blocked his number by then. It showed up as an international call but when I checked the call details it was actually a UK number. I’ve reported it to BT security!

The chap appeared to be alright and guided me on how to secure my computer, but he didn’t take kindly to the fact that I wouldn’t fork out £7.00. He mentioned he’d ring me back, which made me chuckle! But now I’m left wondering, is my computer and banking information secure? He couldn’t access what he needed from my bank because he was using an outdated number.

Back in April 2016, I got a call from someone saying they were with Microsoft Windows. They said someone had been snooping on my PC and now it was all corrupted. They promised to fix it for me free of charge. The bloke told me to switch on my computer. I asked if he was joking, he just kept saying “no madam, just turn it on.” I said no. Then he said it was important to sort it out. I told him I was busy because I was arranging my husband’s funeral. He asked if my hubby couldn’t do it himself. I said no, he’d passed away. Then the caller just hung up.

01235 647897 Terribly thick Indian accent. It's clearly one of those "computer trouble" scams. When I requested he verify my name and the type of operating system I had, the charming individual just erupted with insults before cutting the call.

This morning at around half past eight, I received a phone call from someone with an Indian accent who alleged they were representing Microsoft and insisted there were issues with my computer being hacked. They were quite eager to gain remote access to my machine. When I requested a callback number, they initially provided one that began with 083330, but then the rest of their number was almost indecipherable. Before I could clarify anything, they abruptly hung up. The call was also filled with a lot of distracting background noise, which suddenly ceased mid-conversation. It was rather unsettling, to say the least.

Got a call from some Indian bloke named Kevin, pretending to be from Microsoft. Said our PC was sending them signals or something. I told him I don't even own a computer. Then he tells me to bang my head against the wall and I'll get one soon enough. I told him we're on the TPS list and I'd be reporting him, then I hung up. Heard him muttering something about banging my head against a brick wall after that.

A bloke from India said he was from Microsoft, going on about how my computer was downloading stuff in the background without me knowing. I kept him talking by asking daft questions, then his mate started spinning even bigger fibs. He got really confused when I said I couldn’t find a Start button, then even more baffled when I told him I don’t have a 'Windows' key either. I laughed, mentioned I use Apple Macs, and told him to **** off. I’m glad I could waste some of his time during my tea break.

Got a call earlier from a bloke claiming to be Harry from Windows. He said there was a problem with my PC. Got suspicious straight away, so I asked him which computer he meant. Then he tried to say it was “for security reasons” to know how many computers I own. When I flipped it around and asked him how many he claimed I had registered, he just ended the call. When I picked up and said hello, there was just silence for a bit, then a bloke finally said hello back, by which point I'd already said hello again. He repeated hello really slowly and daftly, so I told him I'd already said hello and asked what he wanted. He just said hello again, so I asked if he was taking the mick. When he asked what I meant, I just said goodbye and hung up. I've blocked that number now, but I wonder how long it’ll be before they ring me from a new one?

The second time, even after I said I didn’t have one he kept going on about some problem with my Microsoft account, claiming their system showed it. Same as others have said, this number keeps calling us nonstop. When we answer, it's usually people with Asian accents pretending to be from Microsoft saying our computer is in trouble. Got a call from this number earlier today. A guy with a pretty strong foreign accent said his name was Kevin and claimed to be from Microsoft. He kept going on about my computer sending warnings that my files were at risk. I didn’t trust it and told him I was tied up. He kept pushing, which only made me more wary. You’d think if it was legit, he’d be a bit more understanding about me being busy. I suggested he call back later and that just made him more persistent. Haven’t heard a peep since. I figured it was probably a scam, so nice to see others have spotted that too.

I then said I work for Microsoft (which I don’t) and that they never ring up like that. He hung up straight away. Watch out for this lot. Got two calls from the same bloke today. The first was a guy with an Indian accent who said his name was Kevin. He claimed there was a virus on my computer and told me to relax and switch it on. I waited for a bit then told him I don’t even own a computer. He got rude straight away, said I was wasting both our time, and hung up. Later on, another Indian sounding man rang, didn’t give a name, told me to turn the computer on. I said it’s a scam, and when he asked what I could see, I left the phone off the hook.
