I got a phone call from a call centre claiming to be from my home insurance provider. They asked stuff like the age of my appliances, whether I have a will, and if I’m interested in getting a new one. It seemed harmless since they didn’t ask for any detailed personal info. But then, within a day, three different firms rang me up offering services based on the answers I gave in that call. Nowhere during the conversation did they say my info would be passed around for marketing. Really poor behaviour! Not a company I’d trust again.

Google automatically flagged the call as possible spam and blocked it. After checking here, it’s clear it really was spam, so I went ahead and blocked the number.

I reckon this is just another of the countless nuisance calls that no one seems to discuss. The phone rings, I block the number, and it’s the same old tune. There should really be legislation to combat this, particularly for those who are severely disabled and find it a real challenge just to pick up the phone, only to be confronted by some halfwit using the last of their brain power - which might be why they’re stuck in a dead-end job in the first place!

Got a call from someone saying they were from Unique Choice. When I told them I was checking the number, they didn’t seem too pleased. Decided to block them straight away. Definitely a scam call.

I received a call from a chap with an Asian accent claiming to be from Domestic and General, attempting to persuade me to renew some policies. Politely, I informed him I wasn't interested and that I'd reach out to Domestic and General myself. However, his response was shockingly aggressive, peppered with foul language. I promptly hung up, but he had the audacity to ring me back! I warned him that I'd be contacting the authorities, yet he continued with his vile tirade. After the incident, I got in touch with Domestic and General directly, and I can confirm it was indeed a scam attempt.

Got a call from some guy with an Asian accent asking if the house owner was in. My grandma said nobody was home, and then the bloke went off on her, shouting and saying all sorts of nasty stuff. After that, they rang back three more times.
