Got a call from a number starting with 01235, which apparently serves Abingdon and nearby places. But from what I found on ukphoneinfo[###], this particular range isn’t officially assigned to anyone. Seems like the caller was faking their number. Ofcom's data even says numbers beginning 01235619 aren’t meant to be in use. Pretty clear to me - it’s a total scam!

This number rang me earlier today, and the person on the line was a woman with an Asian accent who said her name was Sophie. When I asked her the reason for calling, she claimed to be from UK Broadcast. I didn't hesitate to tell her to get lost and ended the call quickly. Definitely a scam call, no doubt about it!

For anyone, especially older folks, who keep getting these annoying calls - just don’t pick up if you don’t recognise the number. If your phone lets you, block the number too. Usually, these calls come from automated call centres that just blast out calls to a bunch of people without even knowing who they’re reaching. Most times, it’s just some sales pitch, but sometimes it could be an attempt to steal your info. Better safe than sorry, really.

This number rang me twice this morning, once at 09:41 and again at 09:51. They’ve called me a few times before too - twice last week and a couple of times before that in early September. A bloke with an Indian accent who said his name was David claimed he was from Sky TV. He had my details, telling me my subscription had run out but I could renew it for £110. He also gave me a new Sky number (0800 433 2129) and asked me to pick a unique password. Then he tried to get my bank card info, so I quickly ended the call. Don’t fall for this - total scammer!

Look at the two comments right under this one, and also check out the two from the bottom dated 10/09/2020 and 12/09/2020. This bloke called me once more, trying to get me to give my bank info! I told him straight up I wasn’t falling for it and that he wasn't with Sky TV. I even asked him for my Sky account number, but of course, he couldn’t say it.

I got a call from a friendly bloke with an Asian accent, he wanted to chat with the owner of the company. I told him we’re a massive corporation and that the boss probably lives somewhere fancy like a penthouse in London. After that, he just hung up. I was the person who flagged this number back on 10/09/2020 - and just this afternoon at about 3.15pm, they rang me again. I’m confused though, why do they only keep calling me? Seems like no one else has complained about them. If the telemarketers are reading this - I’m not interested in doing any surveys, nor do I want to switch my electricity, gas, internet, or phone provider. Also, I don’t need insurance for my gadgets. just got my first call from this number- all i could hear was a long quiet pause then this automated woman’s voice saying “bye”. i had something similar with 07873 830640 and 02380 734609 a few weeks ago. seems like these call centres keep grabbing fresh numbers and then see what people say about them online, maybe?
