This number is a proper hotspot for scammers, I've found it linked to a load of dodgy giveaways. The calls go way back, like over three years now, and it seems to be mostly old folks on the end of it.

So today, 13th August, at about 10:31am I got a call from 01235 300014, which is an Abingdon number in Oxfordshire. The person on the other end was actually a woman speaking live, not some automated message, and she was asking about insulating my home. She spoke quite fast, so I didn't catch everything, but I made it clear I wasn’t interested and ended the call pretty quickly. I've checked here and seems like this number has loads of reports and is seen as a nuisance from what people say.

Two posts below explain what you need to do if you want to put an end to all these overseas crooks tricking vulnerable folks out of their money and annoying the rest of us. It’s a bit of work but I’ve done it - I keep reporting scam calls and messages to the police database (I’ve bookmarked the address). Sadly, it’s gonna take thousands of people making these reports before any real changes happen, but everyday loads of people report scam calls on here. You won’t see instant results if you take this step, but if nobody bothers, these scam calls will just keep on going.

They kept ringing me up quite a few times, and I played along since they seemed to know which network I was with. But I started to get a bit iffy when I told them I don’t use my middle name and they said it was necessary. They also wanted to know if I was working and my job place. When I said, "I doubt you need this info just to sort my sim out," they said, "alright mam, you don’t have to give it." Then they asked for my bank sort code and account number, which made me look up the number online.

Find the ‘report a phishing attempt’ section and carefully read all the info provided. Then put in the details of the scam, including any links or web addresses. You don’t need to register or give personal info unless youve lost money. Reporting these calls and texts is the only way for the police to keep track and fight back against these scams.

Got a call from Currys PC World, said it was about a recent order but didn't give any names or info. Then they just ended the call after a couple of seconds. Pretty suspicious.

I received a rather pushy call today from someone with an Indian accent, who was insisting they were calling from Carphone Warehouse.
