Got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC saying I owed money and had to pay straight away or face legal trouble. They even asked for my bank details but I told them HMRC wouldn’t ask for that over the phone, they usually send letters first. Felt like a scam to me.

Received a call promoting a mobile plan priced at £15 monthly for unlimited calls, texts, and data, supposedly from Carphone Warehouse. However, when I quizzed the caller about the fair usage policy for data, his tone took a nosedive into rudeness, even labelling me a "sharp man" and making some rather inappropriate remarks about my mother-poor chap! I intend to reach out to Carphone Warehouse to see if there’s any truth in this, just in case it’s not a complete con. When I phoned the number back, it was still operational with some sort of holding system, saying it was linked to a company called “New Day Links”-a marketing firm, it seems. Yet, I can’t find any online presence for them. Quite bizarre!
