Received a call just a short while ago. I answered, yet the person on the other end was oddly quiet. After a good ten seconds passed in silence, they simply hung up without uttering a word.

Had the same thing happen to me. Got a robotic message claiming it was from HMRC and told me to press 1 or else they’d report me to the (I reckon) police. I’d already hung up by then. Calls like this are really scary, especially for older or vulnerable people, and honestly, they ought to be blocked or stopped.

Got a dodgy robo call saying HMRC’s opened a fraud case on me. They told me to press 1 to confirm, or else I’d get arrested. Total rubbish.

When I get a call from a cold caller, they often hang up before the automated message even starts. If the message does play, I listen for a bit to check if it’s someone I actually want to talk to, and if not, I just end the call. Seems like that approach has worked, cause I hardly get any scam or sales calls anymore.

Got another bogus survey call trying to grab my personal info. I just hung up straight away and blocked the number. I’m really glad I can report it on the who called me site to warn others. Cheers for that!!

Got a call from a lady speaking with an Indian accent, said she was conducting a survey for a company named Vespa or something like that.

A woman with a strong Indian accent started straight away with her sales spiel. I cut her off to ask which company she was representing, and she said it was a market research firm named 'Verso'. When I asked how they got my phone number, she just ignored me and kept firing her questions, so I ended the call and blocked the number. These calls are driving me mad - I probably get one every single day.

He somehow managed to get my name, address, and mobile number without me ever sharing it. I didn't say if it was me or not, which seemed to frustrate him, because he ended the call after just a minute. Pretty sure it's a scam. Why don’t the phone companies do anything about these idiots?

A guy with an Asian accent called and knew my name and where I lived before (didn’t bother telling him my new place). He said he just had three quick questions but kept going and going. One of the questions was about my washing machine, so I’m guessing he got my info from when I bought my old one. After a while, I got fed up with the never ending questions and just cut him off. Number’s blocked now.

Spoke to an Asian guy who when questioned couldn’t give me my own info. I asked a few times and all he could say was address and last name. If u know who’s at this place, u should be able to answer simple stuff. Told him if i google his number it says ‘scam’! Folks, don’t let these jokers fool you - ask for plenty of your details back. If they can’t provide them, then they don’t have all your info like proper companies you actually deal with.

I got a call from an Asian guy, sounded like a call centre but definitely not local to Canterbury. He was asking me to verify my name and address, which was odd since I have no idea where they got that info. He was super polite, even throwing in some compliments and small chat. Said he only had 2 quick questions for a survey. But when he asked what age group I was in and I said the third one, I decided to just end the call. Think the company was called Russo or something?

My phone showed a Canterbury number so I picked up. A man with an Asian accent started by asking me to confirm my name, then said which company he was calling from but I missed that bit. Next he rattled off my home address, which baffled me as I have no clue where he got it from. I kept him talking while he asked all sorts of questions like if I own my house, my age, the brand of my washing machine, if I'm employed, what kind of property I live in, and even my mobile provider. I just made up answers and eventually he ended the call.

Got a call from 01227 286778, sounded like a call centre somewhere in Asia (definitely not Canterbury). The person knew my name and said they were from 'rvos' or something like that? Then started up with the usual line, “don’t get me wrong, I’m not selling anything, just wanna do a quick survey...” I cut them off right there and blocked the number straight away!
