Got a call from someone named John claiming to be from Medical Alert, trying to sell me a pendant because apparently, I’m over 50 and supposedly live on my own. Thing is, I don’t live alone at all. When I asked where he got my number, he mentioned local groups but wouldn’t give me any actual names. I told him I’m on the TPS so he really shouldn’t be calling. He just said, “No worries” and that was that.

Around 3 pm, I got a call from someone saying he was John from the Dorset Medical Alert Centre offering a free bracelet because of health reasons. When I asked who he wanted to speak to in the house, he just kept insisting he was John. I tried to explain that I wanted to know who exactly he was after since I don't live alone. Then suddenly, he just hung up on me.

I had a rather dodgy encounter recently with someone claiming to offer me a complimentary pendant alert. When I pressed for details on how they obtained my number, they were completely evasive. They insisted on revealing little about themselves, aside from saying their name was John Richardson, which made me chuckle, thinking of the comedian. Eventually, they mentioned they were affiliated with a firm called Medical Alert Monitoring Centre, which, funnily enough, ceased operations back in June 2021 and was run by a Bulgarian chap from London. Clearly, this was nothing more than a scam from a con artist!
