I get about half a dozen of these every week. They claim they’re from Virgin Mobile but speak with a noticeable foreign accent. Honestly, don’t bother engaging with them. They’re super pushy and don’t really seem to pay attention when you try to explain things. The deal they offer is way off from what the phone actually costs - it’s one of those “too good to be true” scams. Just a complete waste of time. I keep blocking the numbers, but somehow they always ring back from a different, only slightly changed number. Proper annoying!

Got a dodgy call from some bloke claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse, which apparently is now Currys. He was Indian and his English was pretty rough. When I told him he’d got the wrong number, he insisted Vodafone had passed on my info. I said I’m with O2, he said O2 gave it to them. Then I corrected and said I’m with Virgin. That’s when I lost it and told him to do one with some colourful language! What a waste of time.

I received a call the other day from someone claiming to represent Virgin Media, chatting on about a special offer they had going. They wanted to know what make of phone I was using. I pointed out that surely, as a current customer, they should already know that information. Quite abruptly, the woman on the other end of the line cut off the call. It's worth mentioning that my phone has been buzzing with at least one of these calls every single day for the last fortnight.
