I received a call from a chap who had quite the Indian accent and claimed he was from Carphone Warehouse, but something about it all felt a bit dodgy.

Picked up the phone and an individual, who had an Indian accent and struggled with English, introduced himself as Peter from Carphone Warehouse. He proceeded to discuss how he could help reduce my monthly bills.

I received a missed call from 01225666021, but they didn’t bother leaving a voicemail. Clearly, it wasn't anything significant. I tend to ignore numbers I don’t recognise—it’s quite irksome, really!

Seems like this phone number is nothing but a dodgy scammer after personal details. I've gone ahead and blocked them. Best to steer clear!

I then heard a voice with a distinct foreign accent claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse, or something along those lines. Immediately suspicious, I decided to terminate the call. The caller ID had flagged it as potential spam, which didn’t help matters!

I received a call on my work mobile today—an exclusive number shared solely with my workmates. They didn’t pick up, and oddly, no voicemail was left behind. When I tried ringing back, a recorded message informed me that I had reached "National Communication." It then instructed me to send an email if I wished to opt out. I must say, what a curious name—“National Communication”! Shouldn't it at least have an ’s’ at the end? It seems rather off, doesn’t it?

Keeps cutting off mid-call – definitely a con artist at work.

I received a call the other day from someone claiming to represent Virgin Media, chatting on about a special offer they had going. They wanted to know what make of phone I was using. I pointed out that surely, as a current customer, they should already know that information. Quite abruptly, the woman on the other end of the line cut off the call. It's worth mentioning that my phone has been buzzing with at least one of these calls every single day for the last fortnight. Oddly enough, this was the first time someone actually stayed on the line long enough for me to respond!

I received a call from someone claiming to be with Carphone Warehouse, trying to entice me into getting a new iPhone or Samsung as part of some sort of promotional deal. He didn't even bother to say goodbye when I told him to jog on!

They claimed to be from Vodafone, attempting to sell me a Black Friday promotion for an iPhone. I didn't hesitate to tell them to take a hike!

I've been told that my car's come down with something akin to COVID.

It brings to mind a rather unfortunate encounter I had a while back. It all kicked off with an email from Carphone Warehouse tempting me with a fantastic offer for an iPhone 13 Pro. Regrettably, I was convinced. I ended up trading in my iPhone 12 Pro along with an extra £100. To my dismay, the promised iPhone 13 Pro never materialised. I reported all the necessary information to the fraud squad, including my banking details and the address linked to the scam, but it appeared to be a fruitless effort. It turned out to be a costly mistake.
