I looked into this number as I picked up the call but encountered silence on the other end. Judging by the comments I found here, I reckon it was likely some chap attempting to persuade me into altering my mobile contract.

I received a call earlier today from someone masquerading as Vodafone, claiming they could hook me up with a more favourable contract deal since I supposedly no longer have to pay for my device. The thing is, I’m already on the most economical plan, being on a sim-only arrangement. As soon as I mentioned this to them, they promptly ended the call. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

I didn't quite catch what the gentleman mentioned regarding the company he represented, but he claimed to be phoning on behalf of EE, offering some upgrades. He mentioned that I’d had a chat with one of his associates, but that wasn’t the case at all. Then, he probed me about the commencement of my contract, and upon revealing I’d only been with them for a year, he informed me I wouldn’t qualify for an upgrade, suggesting he’d ring me back next year! Usually, I tend to avoid answering calls, but this time I did because it showed a local code. He was exceedingly courteous, so I can’t really complain, but I’ll definitely be blocking that number!
