01224928530 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01224928530 👆 is reported as a persistent source of nuisance and scam calls, predominantly from aggressive or evasive cold callers claiming to represent window, door, or energy home improvement services. Despite many recipients being registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and often ex-directory, the calls continue unabated, with some involving pushy sales tactics, refusal to identify the caller, or hanging up abruptly. Callers frequently ask to speak to the homeowner and attempt to gather personal information or persuade recipients to engage with alleged grant or cashback schemes. Many users advise blocking the number and caution against providing any personal or banking details. Official bodies such as Ofcom and the ICO are recommended for reporting these unwanted calls, though users express frustration over the limited enforcement and ongoing harassment.

I didn't receive a message, but I acquired this number a few weeks ago and have been receiving annoying calls intended for someone else, even though the number is registered with TPS. Tomorrow, I plan to lodge a complaint with the financial ombudsman regarding the failure to clear this line before it was given to me. Last night, I was advised to contact TPS, but in fact, it should be my telephone provider's responsibility to address this issue with TPS and rectify the situation. I have received a message on my answering machine about grants for windows, which I suspect may be related to these unwanted calls. The message came from a withheld number. After speaking on the phone, I had it disconnected. The Financial Ombudsman will escalate this matter to OFCOM. Why should I have to bear the cost for something that is clearly my service provider's problem? I am extremely frustrated!

Got a call at 7.45pm but didn’t pick up. Honestly, why cant they just make these annoying calls against the law? I don’t know anyone who actually likes getting calls from random strangers. If there was a politician who promised to stop them, they’d have my vote for sure. I’m fed up with being bothered all the time. Even though I’m on the TPS and my number’s unlisted, I still get bombarded.

When I received a call from this number, I politely informed the young woman that it was a cold call and I was not interested in purchasing windows at half price. However, she became defensive and insisted that it wasn't a cold call. It was quite disappointing to encounter such rudeness from her.

I received two phone calls while I was out, but I missed them. As I usually do, I searched on Google and found this helpful community page called "unknownphone.com." I want to express my gratitude for this website. Because of these unwanted calls, I have decided to add the numbers to my phone's blacklist. Goodbye and good riddance!

Had a chat with two individuals who called from this number. They kept going on about cashback for doors and windows through some sort of mystery deal. Claimed they weren’t trying to sell anything, just checking what people might be entitled to!!! These cold calls really need to be banned.

Said they were from THERMAL HOMES. I gathered the info needed for a TPS complaint. TPS seems useless tho - all talk no action. Next time I’m thinking of getting Thermal Homes to send a rep to meet me (and my mates) on some lonely dark winter’s evening. Watch out, Thermal Homes!

Got a call from 001224928530, a bloke who sounded middle-aged, asking for me by name and saying he was from Thermal Windows. Asked if it was a sales call - thankfully I said no (yeah right). Told him if I needed anything, I'd find it myself. Then he cheekily asked how I’d know what I want. I told him I’m not into cold calls and ended the call. He hung up after that.

Some young bloke rang up asking for the homeowner. I didn’t bother telling him I was the homeowner, just asked if it was a sales call since we’re on the TPS. He asked how long we’d been on it. I told him since it started. Then he said you need to renew it every six months or so. Not buying it! I just ended the call.

I received a call this morning, but thankfully, I have BT Call Guardian. It's the best investment I've made because I no longer have to tolerate this rubbish! I've been registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) for around three decades, yet I'm still bombarded with these unwanted calls. So, I once contacted them and was informed that they could put a stop to it, but only if I was willing to pay £35 per year. Honestly, that's just absurd! In my opinion, it clearly demonstrates that they are capable of preventing these bothersome calls but choose to demand payment. What's the point of it all?

Got a call asking for the person who owns this house - I told them I was, even tho I actually am. They kept asking where the owner was and wouldnt say who they were. I kept asking who they were but they wouldnt answer. They said they'd ring back and kept saying they were nearby. I just hung up then. I'm signed up to TPS and do block spam calls. Seriously, there should be stricter rules about these annoying calls.

They asked me to verify my name, but I was super cautious not to say "YES" because I’ve read about scams where they record that word and splice it into other conversations to make you agree to stuff. Anyway, after they confirmed it was me, the caller said she was Linda and wanted to tell me about an energy efficiency deal nearby, but then she suddenly just said "Thanks!" and cut the call.

A young man displayed a highly aggressive attitude when requested to be taken off the call list. Despite both of us being Scottish, he adamantly denied the existence of anyone named Colin. He continuously yelled and persisted in his claims of no Colin being present. The intensity of his hostility was quite alarming. In response to this unpleasant encounter, my husband swore at him, prompting me to call back and threaten involving the police. My husband agreed with this course of action.

I left an electronic message on my landline telephone. Despite being ex-directory and registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS), I received an unwanted call. I have already reported these individuals to TPS, but unfortunately, they informed me that there is nothing they can do about it. It's quite frustrating, isn't it? It seems that no matter whether you are registered with TPS or not, you cannot avoid receiving calls from such bothersome individuals.

We typically receive around three weekly phone calls from the same number. The callers can be either a young-sounding woman or a man. They persistently continue talking even when we try to decline their offers, so eventually, we just say goodbye and end the call. This is really bothersome because my husband's elderly mother sometimes calls us and we worry that we might mistakenly ignore her calls because of these unwanted interruptions.

Aberdeen

There is an unlawful practice of cold calling being carried out by a double glazing company based in Aberdeen. To effectively handle their calls, anticipate their question asking if you are the homeowner, and simply reply with a polite denial, stating that you are not. Then, kindly inform them that you will fetch the homeowner and promptly end the call. Walk away at this point. By doing so, you can cause them inconvenience and frustration by increasing their phone bill and forcing them to waste time until they eventually disconnect the call!

Make sure to report any pesky or silent phone calls to Ofcom and the ICO, especially those from overseas call centres like the ones in India pushing lifestyle surveys and stuff. Whether it’s dead silence, recorded messages, or actual people ringing you up cold, let them know so they can crack down on unwanted marketing calls. They won’t reply personally but the info you send helps them hunt down the culprits. The more details you provide, the better chance they have of stopping these annoying calls and spam texts. - ICO
