Watch out everyone. I've had several calls from folks claiming to be officials, but they keep switching UK numbers every time they ring. They somehow knew bits about me, like my birthday, which made it sound legit, but it's obviously just a con. They use all sorts of tricks to fluster you or push you into giving info, so don’t fall for it. Never hand over your private or bank details. This sort of behaviour is really dodgy and not on. I'd suggest people stay sharp, block these numbers straight away, and report them to the proper authorities.

Somebody rang me claiming to be from HMRC, saying there was a problem with my tax return, apparently filed wrongly by me or my boss, and that legal action was being taken. They asked if I needed a lawyer. It was so pushy and nerve-wracking. I told them I was sure the Ministry of Justice, my employer, wouldn’t be involved in anything like this and that I hadn’t made any mistake. Then they just cut me off. What a bunch of cheats!

On the evening of 25/09/21 around 7pm, I got a call from a guy with an Asian accent who said he was ringing from Carphone Warehouse. I told him I wasn’t interested in any of their offers or services, and then he started to swear at me, throwing out loads of rude words about his body and personal stuff. In the end, I just ended the call.
