Had a voicemail saying there was an arrest warrant against me and that criminal charges were going to be started. They told me to call 01223 793120 to talk to my so-called case consultant. I didn't call back, instead I searched that number on my tablet and found loads of others who were also targeted by these scammers. THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM. BE CAREFUL, DON'T FALL FOR IT.

Got a voicemail saying there was an arrest warrant against me and that legal action was about to start. They wanted me to call 01223 793120 to talk to someone about my case. Didn’t bother calling, but I typed the number into my tablet and found loads of others talking about similar scams. Definitely a con. Watch out and don’t fall for it!

Got a call from this number earlier, claiming there was a warrant out for my arrest. When I rang back, some bloke on the line said it was HMRC and told me to phone back the next day since they were about to shut. I tried asking what the problem was but he just brushed me off. Seems like a total scam to me.

Hi, this is Michael G Wood from The Meadows, Leominster, UK. Today, Wednesday 26/09/2018, I left a message roughly 6 hours ago regarding the number 01223793120. I initially phoned this number on Monday, 24/09/2018. The call was about some tax I’m apparently meant to pay to the Inland Revenue and Customs & Excise department.

Got a voicemail from this number so I decided to call back, adding a 0 at the start since it wasn’t included in the message. When I got through, two men with foreign accents answered quite rudely. One said his name was OFFICE JOHN MILLER, the other called himself OFFICER COOKE. They claimed they were from the INLAND REVENUE CUSTOMS & EXCISE and accused me of underpaying tax from 1979 to 2017. They threatened that a police officer would show up at my house within 30 minutes if I didn’t pay up that very day, which was actually two days ago, Monday 24/09/2018. This really unsettled my mum too, so she tried calling them back from my phone and got the same brusque person answering - the exact same one who’d spoken to me the first time I rang after the voicemail.
