I picked up this call and the person on the other end was talking about insulation, saying mine needed changing. I told them that was already sorted. I got a call from someone claiming to be from an environmental firm linked to the government, saying they had to inspect our insulation because it might've been badly done and could cause mould. On 15th March 2019, at about 15:11, I got a call from 01223678798. We’re on the ex-directory list and even have a voicemail that mentions we’re signed up with the TPS. This number just keeps ringing me up, won’t stop at all. I was curious so I tried ringing back, but it just said no number available. We've got one of those BT call guardian phones that asks who’s calling first. If they say who they are, then I can decide to pick up or not. I’d definitely suggest everyone gets one of these - since I got it, those annoying calls have really dropped off.

Had a ring from some bloke called John earlier today, sounded like an Indian accent. Told him straight up I wasn't interested and called him out as a scammer, told him to jog on. Since then they've kept phoning me - about eight times now - but all went to voicemail with no word left. When I picked up the last call, it just went quiet. Got calls from this number three times today - first two were dead silent. On the third, some bloke with an Indian accent asked if I was “my name”. I asked who he was, and he said he was from TPS, offering a free lifelong service. Then he asked if I’m the phone account holder, and I said yes (bit daft, I know). He then wanted me to confirm my address, which he oddly already knew perfectly. Fool me, I shared that too. Next, he asked if I pay my phone bill by direct debit, I wasn’t sure but said maybe. Then came the weird question if I was under 85! Finally, he asked more about my direct debit, and that’s when I hung up - should’ve done it right away! Now I’m stressing he might use my direct debit info to withdraw money behind my back. Might have to ring my bank just in case. Can’t believe I fell for their trick so easily!

My 93 year old mum got two calls in six mins. Luckily BT Call Protect stopped them reaching her, but lately it hasn’t caught every one. Seems like the spammers figured out that calls showing as withheld, unknown or from abroad tend to slip past the filters. It’s nuts we’ve had over 500 calls in a bit more than a year, even though we’re on the TPS. They just keep trying whatever they can to get through.

Got a call from some Indian accent, asking to chat with us by name. I said no thanks, not interested and just ended the call. This number has popped up a couple times recently. Got a call from a lady with an Indian accent who already knew my name. She said she could help me stop nuisance calls. I told her it wasn’t really working out, and then she just ended the call. Definitely feels like a scam to me.

They’ve been ringing non stop asking to speak to someone called “Mr Flet” or something like that. A couple days back, they even tried to say they were from the Telephone Preference Service, but it smelt like a total scam to me.

Got a call from someone claiming to be in the ‘call blocking team’. I decided to humour them for a bit, just to kill some time and hopefully stop them from conning anyone else.

Had this really irritating bloke who just wouldn’t leave even after I told him there was someone visiting. Honestly, just cuss out these scammers and either hang up or keep them waiting while you brew yourself a tea.

This number has rung my home phone about six times today alone, and I’m pretty sure there were a few more calls earlier in the week. I haven’t picked up most of the time since it’s an unknown caller, and whenever I do, if it goes to voicemail, they just hang up. Twice I answered out of annoyance, but the line just went dead straight away. I’m on the TPS list, and funny enough, one call this week claimed that’s exactly where they were calling from, but I didn’t trust it and ended the call. Seriously, the way these people work is just ########.

This number called me twice claiming to be from BT's tech support. I kept her talking for a bit but she eventually gave up. Really not the best way to make a living. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

This number has called us quite a few times over the past week. An Asian lady answers, but it’s really hard to catch what she’s saying because there’s a lot of noise like it’s coming from some call centre. The number says it’s from around Cambridge. We’re on the TPS already, so when we asked why they were ringing, we just ended the call.

Got a call from an Indian chap speaking with a proper busy call centre vibe, asking if I’ve been getting annoying scam calls. Quite funny, innit? I just kept quiet so he’d think I wasn’t interested, and after a bit he just hung up. I’ve been on the TPS list for yonks now, but it never really stops them ringing.
