I got a call from this exact number claiming to be from the phone company’s blocking department. They wanted me to verify the expiry date on my card, so I just guessed one. Then they asked for the numbers on the front of the card, like my account number. The bloke was really pushy, first with me then with my husband. We hung up twice and he called us back again but this time the number was hidden. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Been getting calls nonstop this past week. Pure scam and phishing rubbish (I haven't been in any crashes for years, and there’s no way I’m owed nearly £3k from some random injury claim). I humoured them for about 8 minutes, never gave them my name or any info, then they sent me to some 'manager' to sort out this ‘claim’. Absolutely fed up with these bloody muppets!

This morning a woman rang me saying it was about an accident I was supposedly part of, but I told her I’ve never had an accident before. I’ve had around 30 calls in the past half year about some car crash, they keep pushing me to remove my number but they don’t stop. This lot should be reported, they couldn’t even tell me when or where the accident supposedly happened, kept saying it’s about data protection. Honestly, never heard so many fibs in my life. Got a call from a bloke who sounded like he was from Africa. Proper rude and aggressive, saying he was with some Motor Investigation unit. Told me if I didn’t answer all his questions, he’d call the cops. I told him I’m actually a cop myself. He just hung up. He insisted the number was right but the name was wrong and then began telling me about an accident I supposedly had. I stayed calm and said I’ve never been in any accident. I just picked up a call from this number and they were going on about a small accident, asking if I’d got a letter saying they’d be ringing. I tried looking this number up on Google and couldn’t find your site in the results, which honestly is a relief. You’re always the first place I check when I get calls from numbers I don’t recognise. Google only says it’s linked to TalkTalk, but I don’t really have the time or patience to figure out if it’s some kind of scam. Big thanks to Who-Called though, you’ve been a lifesaver about 95% of the time! :)

Picked up the phone and there was nothing but silence, then the line just went dead. Definitely some kind of scam going on.

I got a call from a bloke saying his name was Paul Jones. He was going on about an accident I supposedly had, which I knew nothing about. I told him straight away I hadn’t been involved in any crash, but he just pushed on with the details anyway. The guy was pretty cheeky, kept cutting me off whenever I tried to ask something. Still, I managed to jot down where he said he worked: Motor Investigations, 302 Scotfield Avenue, Birmingham. Strangely, he couldn’t or wouldn’t give me the postcode. Made me suspicious.

I missed the call at first but decided to return it later. When I called back, an automated voice said it was some kind of car insurance claims firm. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now anyway.
