Got a recorded call from someone claiming to be from HM Revenue Customs, saying there was some problem with my tax and I had to press 1. They also warned that if I didn’t get in touch, they'd start the process to arrest me straight away.

Totally dodgy, so I’d say just hang up and don’t even bother responding.

Got a call from 01221 618968, some woman with an English accent telling me to pay up or my internet would be cut off. Like, who in their right mind calls a 01482 number for that? Hull is proper different from the rest of the UK cos it’s got Kcom, the only provider around. Next time this daft lady tries, she should use the 01482 code instead of 01221 - maybe then the person on the other end will stay on the line long enough to tell her to jog on!

01221 508752 Got the same creepy automated call as mentioned in the 18 Feb comment. It was some robot voice saying they’ll cut off my internet. I’m not falling for it since my internet’s linked to a completely different phone number than my house line!

01221105773 - SCAM - got a call from a woman's voice, sounded British, saying my internet would be disconnected in 24 hours over some illegal stuff and asked me to press keys to learn how to fix it. I just ended the call - total scam. DON’T PRESS ANY KEYS.

Honestly, i feel like the officials should of handled them more decisively by now, like just one strike on their base. Would make the middle east safer and bring some kind of peace for everyone. Also, letting loads of them come into our country surely only made things worse.

I told them I don’t have one since I hardly ever shop online and then I just ended the call. They didn’t even ask for my name or any details, just said there was an attempt to access my supposedly non-existent account.

Got a call from INTERNATIONAL 01221-605242 but they didn’t pick up. Whenever I see “international” before the number, I’m already suspicious it’s a scam. We hardly ever pick up numbers we don’t know, then have a quick search online - usually it’s a scammy number and we just block it after. The annoying bit is these scammers just tweak a single digit in the number they fake, so they manage to get through again. With all the tech available nowadays, you’d think the phone companies would do more to stop these calls getting through in the first place.
