Got a call on 20/3/23 from someone claiming to be from Curry/PC World about a new phone contract. They got really rude and started yelling at me. Ended the call straight away. Definitely a scam.

I received a rather alarming automated message claiming, “HMRC has flagged tax fraud, to speak with an agent, please press one.” Naturally, I pressed the button, only for the “agent” on the other end to mumble something unintelligible before abruptly ending the call. Concerned, I tried ringing the number (01220 747139) back, only to be greeted by an automated voice stating, “this number is unrecognised.” I then reached out to HMRC directly, and they confirmed that it was likely just a scam. Quite the nuisance, isn't it?

01220 527556 called me this morning from a live person saying they were from Amazon about my Prime subscription. They even used my name and asked if I wanted to keep or cancel the membership. I told them right away I don’t have a Prime account and I knew they weren’t legit before hanging up. What creeped me out was them knowing my actual name. I’ve had automated calls before about my Prime being renewed for £79.95 and to press 1 to cancel, but I just ignored those and didn’t check the numbers. This is the first time a real voice has tried this on me.

01220408388 Got a call yesterday from someone claiming to be Microsoft, saying there was an issue with our PC. Knowing it was a con, I handed the phone to my husband who’s brilliant at messing with these sorts of callers until they hang up. This time he asked them which computer they meant, considering we have like 15! They ended the call, but we got another ring this morning, too late to answer before they hung up. Looks like a third call's on its way! These lot really don’t take no for an answer. Watch out folks!

Got a call from 001220724377018 and honestly, I’m getting really tired of these scam calls. Last year, they rang saying there was an issue with my internet and asked me to link my laptop so they could fix the router. I ended the call straight away and checked with BT who confirmed it was a scam. Also, watch out for a similar scam from a 0179 number in South Wales - I reported that one to the police there.

Just got a call from a woman with an asian accent saying my internet was downloading something and she’d help me fix it. 0122075565 I got a call from a guy who sounded like he had an Asian accent, claiming he was from British Telecom. He told me there was some issue with my phone line and that I might've downloaded some malware. Then he asked if I had a laptop or computer ready to switch on. Yeah, sure! I bet next he'd want me to install his software, which probably wouldn't fix anything but would steal my bank details. Watch out everyone!

Like loads of calls I've had recently, this one was just dead quiet for a bit, then some sort of monotone, probably female, automated voice piped up with just the word "goodbye" said in a way that sounded kinda snarky. No clue who these people are and honestly, I couldn’t care less. My tip? Don’t bother calling back, it’s just a pointless hassle and could end up costing you too!

I keep receiving calls claiming there are issues with my router, but to be honest, everything’s perfectly fine on my end. My internet provider has informed me that this is nothing but a scam aimed at getting into your computer. Quite dodgy if you ask me!

03/10/2016 i tried answering but the call ended before i could get to the phone. I called 1471 to find out who it might be and I’m really curious why someone would call from such a weird number.

This number buzzed our phone, claiming to be from abroad. They blathered on about having a chat with us the week before regarding some unsolicited calls. Honestly, it’s quite amusing! We just hung up on them.
