some guy rang me claiming to be from a credit checking place - didn’t sit right with me at all. felt dodgy straight away. no way was i trusting him, so i’ve blocked the number now.

I got a call from someone saying my number was picked for some government grant or whatever. I was like, nah, that sounds totally fishy and just told them no, no, no before hanging up. Then I just blocked the number straight away.

my phone automatically rejected the call at first, so i decided to ring back. as soon as i did, an automated message started but i didn’t quite get what the company was called (something like “deaf” or similar, no idea). they said if i wanted to opt out or talk to a person, to press 1. i ended the call and tried again, but that time it just went dead with a busy signal.

The phone rang, and I quickly recognised it as a dodgy call, so I promptly blocked the number. Did a bit of digging afterwards, and sure enough, it turned out to be a scam.

I’ve learnt my lesson the hard way and won’t be sharing my number with anyone anymore! Somehow, I ended up telling these lot my digits after they hassled me just as I was leaving the store. They keep ringing me nonstop, even after I told them plenty of times to leave me alone. It’s really frustrating!
