I’ve blocked the number now, but I've had like 10 calls from the same lot where only the last 4 digits change. Honestly, these #### just don’t seem to get the message that I’m not interested in talking to them.

I received a call from a woman claiming that I'd been involved in a car crash. I can't help but think it's nothing more than a con.

Absolute scammers. They ring from numbers like 02825645608 and 01414454704 - obviously fake. It’s an Indian call centre pretending they've got a government cheque for you for £3,000 or so, supposedly due to bank overcharging. They say all you need to do is buy 2 x £175 paysafe cards from a nearby shop so their ‘solicitor’ can be paid. They tell you a solicitor’s coming to deliver this "government cheque" and that they’ll only take the payment after the cheque’s cashed. But there’s no solicitor or cheque at all. They just want the 16-digit codes on the cards. Stay well clear!

Received a call from 01212840721 at about 9.40 in the morning. A polite lady said she’d been in a car crash, which supposedly wasn’t her fault. I told her she must have confused me with someone else and she said she’d remove me from their list. I’ve blocked the number just in case they try calling again.
